Support for Jessica Lynch

Having read some speculation that the upcoming interview with Jessica Lynch and her honest response about her "rescue" could very possibly bring on another wave of RW backlash, I'm thinking that it's time to give her some support for her courage in bringing out the truth.

Does anyone know where one could write to her with some assurance that it would actually reach her?

But I haven't found any trusts or benefit accounts set up yet.... tho' I am sure they exist.

can tell the truth without fear.

She is already giving her money to the kids of ohhh, my... don't know how to spell the woman's name... the Hopi woman who was killed in that same crash. She is already demonstrating her own generosity.

So, how can we show that support?

I thought of writing a letter to the editor of the local paper, but doubtful she will see that.

I really want to hear some ideas.

The DOD is most likely in a frenzy trying to figure out how to spin whatever she is going to say.

Lots being said about Jessica Lynch being vilified by the Freepers, by the BFEE, and what efforts will be made to bring her down.

I still want to know, being more positive, how we can support this woman. What she has gone through was bad enough, and it looks like it's far from over.

Are there military for peace groups who are reaching out to her?

Are any of the other peace groups offering support?

Can we organize *SOMETHING* to demonstrate that the left can care about a truth-speaking soldier, and be there for her in her time of stress?

Let's not just let this center around what the Right is going to do... let's show that the Left can be there for her.

the CNN offices in Hollywood I believe, right on Sunset Blvd at Hudson? Cole? One of those streets...

writing to her in care of Larry King? Having never written to any of these "celebrities" before (really don't care that much about them), I don't know if that would be effective. If it would get through to her, and they would give it to her, that would certainly be one way to do it.

Speaking of which... I certainly hope there is some sort of security. I saw that there was a guard in front of the family home, but I also hope there is some sort of security about her mail and phone. I have the ugly feeling she's getting hate mail, and all that garbage.

All the more reason to find a way to send some positive greetings.

They are pretty harsh people for folks who are supposed to appreciate the military. They mostly blamed the NY Daily News and the Washington Post for disinformation.

Which is why they switch on and off like a light when told what Today's Party Line will be.

Yesterday: Hate deficits. Democrats bad deficit people.

Today: Love deficits. You have always loved deficits. Deficits only way to stop bad Democrats.

Today: Jessica Lynch is Satan.

These monsters will do as they are told. Without question or cosncienec or any of the other things we associate with human beings.

They are as human as their spirtual antecedents, the Brownshirts.

I agree. They are all of those.

So, how can we support Jessica against the onslaught she is facing from them?

when she's attacked for, among other things,

-being blonde

-getting paid for the book she is helping to author

-waiting to tell her story until she was ready to do so

-not spinning her treatment by Iraqis

-not being Shoshana Johnson

-not being Lori Peistewa

-having a family that talked to the press (though I've seen no examples that they exploited this, just more venom and accusations.)

I wish I could say this was happening only in Freeperville, but it's happening here, too, and I'm fed up with it.
