It took a lot of Prozac and Norvasc but I finally finished parsing the POTUS' "Denial and Deception" (their words, not mine) SOTU address.

So, without further adieu, in order of their appearance, here are:

24 "deceptions" in 704 words from the President's 2003 State of the Union Address

1. "We will not deny, we will not ignore, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations." How about the nearly $7 trillion national debt that's increasing by $475 billion or more this year and every year that Bush remains in office

You have to wonder what is it with this world that a leader can lie/deceive 24 times in one speech and pretty much get away with it (he's been pinged on only one lie so far).

The writer suggests that truth doesn't matter. Only the message matters.

Time for a little GOP bashing, to make uo for the Dem bashing.

Some of the things in the SOTU that he talked about are mandated by international law, Geneva convention etc.. They are not Bush ideas. Here is a link to some of them laws that I bet he thinks he wrote.

of what got us into power in the early ninties. We cant concentrate on what the Republicans have done, we have to explain that we offer a better future than what Bush has shown he can produce. That is why the Democrats need to get Behind John Edwards now. He is electible, he thinks about tomorrow today, and he is a good looking southerner. That means he can carry the good ole boy vote. Dont get me wrong I dont like being lied to by Bush. But concentrating on it wont get us in office. Being the better alternative will.
