New New York Poll puts Liberman on top
Edited on Fri Nov-07-03 11:44 PM by La_Serpiente
OK people. I do not like the sound of this. Liberman is coming in on top of the Democratic primary in New York now.

Undecided 19 (16)
Lieberman 17 (13)
Dean 15 (17)
Clark 12 (18)
Kerry 11 (12)
Sharpton 11 (6)
Gephardt 9 (5)
Edwards 3 (4)
Braun 3 (6)
Kucinich 1 (2)

Whatever happens, I will not vote for Liberman.

Forget about world rulers. Octafish, blm, and UTUSN *seriously* need to be in charge of the world for the WORLD's sake.

On Edit: I might add, and I will, that La Serpent's threads are very ingratiating. Thanks.

2. Probably the conservative media spinning this
My guess is that they want Lieberman to run against Bush.

My motto: I'll vote for a tree before I vote for a Bush.

Even Lieberman. Holding my nose.

4. this is not a national poll… change the subject
Edited on Fri Nov-07-03 11:44 PM by pruner
it's a NY poll

From October 29 -- November 3, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,304 New York State registered voters, with a margin of error of +/- 2.7 percent. The survey includes 483 Democrats, with a margin of error of +/- 4.5 percent.

5. The poll interviewed NYS voters only
This was a poll of New York State voters, its not a national poll.

from non-traditional sources...like maybe Halliburton.

but voted AGAINST both Bush tax cuts.

Hey I don't like him either, but let's give credit where credit is due.

12. This poll doesn't matter
Lieberman will be gone by Super Tuesday. If he can't win Arizona or Oklahoma then he'll probably drop out. Besides, he has no grass roots support.

16. I don't believe that poll accurately reflects anything...
I assume Dean is really on top there...

must be something wrong with the methodology.

I'm being serious. Lieberman just doesn't have that
kind of momentum, buzz, or media play.

If a set of statistics don't make common sense, don't
believe them.

17. Don't let New York decide the race for the rest of the country.
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 05:02 AM by The Backlash Cometh
When you think about how they benefitted from the mutual fund & other Wall Street scandals and how the level of greed that they attained through the boom times distanced them from Liberal values, I really don't think that they have the commitment to a Democratic platform that we need to see in these troubling times.

18. WTF!!!!
That doesn't make any sense to me.

I expect a lot from the NY Times but not this. Lieberman is toast!

Take him out of the toaster and spread butter and jam on him. He is done!'

20. That poll has some excellent news for Democrats generally
So you don't like Lieberman? Big whoop. His "lead" is well within a 4.5% margin of error, and Undecided is still the winner. Then you've got to factor name recognition into the mix: Sen. Clinton wins by a landslide, but she's not running. Holy Joe still has some leftover credibility from his stint as Gore's #2. This will diminish, as he loses the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries.

But the BIG news here is bush*s 63% disapproval rating in NYC. Just IMAGINE what the Repuke convention is going to look like! Pure insanity. The RNCC is going to stomp into a place where their candidate is out of favor, 2-to-1, to dance on the graves of thousands of New Yorkers. That isn't going to play well. A large segment of that 63% is going to find time to make a public statement of some sort.

Also worthy of note is bush's 55% disapproval among indy voters.

If the RNCC is thinking they can pick up New York in 2004, they've got a lot of expensive bribing and propaganda to do between now and then.
