Shrub was on the campaign trail in NC yesterday, and unfortunately he has me off defending freedom in another part of the globe. The good thing is I wasn't there to throw up and be pissed off all day. While reading the summary of his speech I came across a line that has me confused...."There isn't much air rage on Air Force One. He's going to make a great United States senator for North Carolina," Bush said. Reference to Rep Richard Burr the next Senator Wanna be that will probably be John Edwards replacement, unfortunately.....What the hell was Shrub talking about Air Rage on AF One? He makes me nuts! Pretzels anyone?!

3. The WS Journal
Has it plastered over 3 pages today. He raised 1.1 million during his visit here yesterday. Lots of protesting going on too!
The "air rage" statement makes NO sense.

4. He's made this remark before
about a month ago. And no-one could figure out what he meant then.

Given the context, it seems he thinks it's funny. But it just isn't. It's not that I think it's cliched, in poor taste, or childish, or anything: it's just not funny.

I wonder if it was the punchline to a joke someone told him once, and he didn't get it. So he just assumed the phrase "there isn't much air rage on Air Force One" was funny on its own, and now he's repeated it a couple of times.

5. Not a golden photo op for Smirky
His visit didn't get a whole lot of press here in the Raleigh area and almost all of it mentioned the protestors and the fact that the textile CEOs he appeared with hate his guts. And Richard Burr has to actually win Edwards' Senate seat. Seeing as the guy has all the charms of an oak stump, he might have to work to get it.
