Removing Zell Miller from the Democratic Party
I know this was posted over a week ago but I wanted to bring it back for anyone that hasn't signed it. Please sign this petition to remove Zell Miller from the Democratic Party. http://www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/Miller/

Just a sidenote, doesn't Miller resemble Carleton Sheets from those "No Money Down" infomercials?

1. Just an often repeated counterpoint-- I wouldn't want to be ina party
that excluded members for whatever reason. If Zell wants to swell our ranks, even if he's unreliable, he's welcome by me. Doesn't mean I won't curse or spit at him with some frequency. You should see my computer screen. But forced conformity is for the other parties, not mine. (I hope).

3. thats a pretty weird statement
Why would you want someone in YOUR party that advocates voting on the guy in the OTHER party?

20. Was it Weicker (sp) that was so much fun on the other side
I think his name was Lowell Weicker... former (R) Sen., I believe. It was fun to watch him cause heartburn.

7. Yeah
the last thing I want is some guy parading around as one of us and telling people that are undecided that look, Democrats even support the extreme right wingers... they are right! So that people that aren't sure yet will see that while not one Republican supports the Dem candidates, Democrats do on the other hand support Bush and Bush really IS the uniter he says he is. It makes us look like extremists the other way when they don't support us but some of us support them.

Kick his ass out.

17. This is what is wrong the dem party today

"that excluded members for whatever reason"

The republicans don't tolerate treachery in their own ranks. If a Republican congressperson were to go around endorsing Clinton and other hated lefties (or at least perceived lefties) you can be reasonably sure that Republican will not be tolerated by the others.

I am not saying we shouldn't allow dissent in the democratic party, but come on. We have to draw a line somewhere, and endorsing major opponents of the democratic party (i.e. Bush) who's reelection will have dire consequences for the nation and world is going too far.

Then of course people who are "happy" to have as many "democrats" in the congress as possible come to places like DU when a couple of those "democrats" decide to back stab us all. Oh so surprised to see a hand full of them break a fillibuster, give sufficient votes for a bad bill to be passed, etc. "How did that happen??? We have enough "democrats" for it not have happened!"

6. ZelMiller is the long-time wakeup call for the Dems...
The Dems have acted like Zelly all along. Why do you think we're in this problem? Why is little man bushie in power? The Dems pink tootoos allowed it. We're mad like hell and that's why Dr. Dean has my vote.

Removing Zelly does not solve the problem. Removing big mouth James Carval who brought Zelly to power, from being the Dem mouth in the party is one of the answers. Removing Terry McCaulley is another answer. There's only one person who should be running the Democratic party. That is Prez Bill Clinton.

18. Yet Paul "smartass" Begala kisses Miller's ass daily
Paul makes me sick. Yes, he hammers Bush, but all he can ever do is insult peoples' looks and try to prove how damned manly he is. If I hear him say that Zell's a great guy once again, I'll probably develop a permanent twitch.

Yeah, they ran a campaign for him, but so what? Zell Miller's a egocentric, atavistic relic of the solid south. He's so conceited that he's willing to destroy the party just out of spite for its having joined the 20th century, much less this one. It's pure pissy vengeance on his part, and he should be denied membership in the party.

22. Carville also
requested and got back his contribution of a few thousand bucks to Zell's senate campaign after the '00 campaign. Apparently he was really pissed at him.

Good was Carville!

9. Why Does He Stay? I Don't Get It
If he's so damned disgusted with the Dems, then go away. Make it official, leave - quit going on TV, radio spouting your love for Bush and lecturing the democrats..

13. He can cause more
trouble on the inside than on the outside. I just wished the DNC would force his butt to change that D into an R. He is being quoted by the Repuglicans everytime he says something negative about us to lend credibility to their crap.

19. Just out of curiousity, is it even possible to throw someone out...
... of the Democratic Party?

I mean, I don't remember signing anything, or paying dues, or taking an oath when I started considering myself a Democrat.

I'd love to see Zell out on his ass as much as the next guy, but is it even a realistic, legal possibility to revoke one's membership of a political party? Don't you sort-of have to do it yourself?

23. Take away committee assignments
and other priviledges, but I wouldn't know how you could throw someone out. I'd think Lyndon Larouche would have been thrown out long ago if there was a way to do it.
