BBV- New Contact Info For Bev Harris

I'm posting this important information here because Bev can't.

Since Bev's stuff has been interrupted sporadically, she has set up a new email address for anyone who needs to contact her- press, tips, stories, activisim, whatever.

Please pass this information on to anyone who needs it. Anyone who has posted links to BBV with contact information on their sites, please change to the above address.

David, Alistair, everyone, please update this contact information ASAP.

The next election belongs to the CITIZENS of this country!

And Hi! I've been really busy the last week or so. Getting the word out. Good grief, if you work at this long enough, people start asking for more information.

Folks, it's really, really important to contact your local legislators. Make appointments to talk to them in person. Find out who in your state is the most tech savvy, as the rest are likely to follow that lead.

Let them know that Dieblod had been put on hold in California, talk about the recent problems in Virginia (?) that have been posted elsewhere on DU. Get your friends, relatives, and neighbors to write a brief note about it.

The good news is that Bev finished the book today! She just needs to take care of some footnotes.

Skinner has said both bans were not irrevocable. Each will be able to return if they will agree to forego whatever misbehaviors led to the bannings. My own view is that both are using the time away from DU to continue the good fight, and I believe that the bans were intended as an admonition rather than some assessment that either was a serious problem to DU. I look forward to hearing from both in the near future and expect that both will be allowed to return when hey ask to do so. If I am wrong, the mods can correct me, but this is based on how I understand what Skinner has said about this question.

This is terrible! What did they do? They were always carefully polite, etc. I don't understand.

I understand from what Skinner has said that both were warned, and this is a fair procedure, but the precise nature of the alleged infractions have never, to my knowledge, been made public. There was what I saw as a minor tiff between the two, and it is possible this was regarded as more serious by the mods than by me, but whatever the cause, I believe both are allowed to request to be re-registered, should they choose to do so, and likely to be able to rejoin DU when they ask. I believe both represent the best of what DU offers - a chance to help make a difference - and regard the bannings as a case of overzealous cat-herding. But since I have never had to deal with the kind of problems faced by professional cat-herders I assume they did what they thought was best at the time.

This is just horrible. I miss them. Couldn't figure out where they were. Thank you so much for telling me. Please give both of them my very best. They are two courageous ladies. We owe them so much.
