If people would just read the news, the Repukes would not have a chance. Take a look at some headlines of the from the front section of today's Charlotte Observer.
"Copter crash kills 6 in Iraq" - Interesting headline. The headline makes it seem like a pilot or mechanical mishap. They could have said, "6 soldiers die after being shot down by Iraqis"
"Turkey withdraws its offer of troops for Iraq" - More evidence that we're going it alone here.
"Pelosi critical of signing images" - Kinda funny article that notes how, in the photo of Bush signing the abortion legislation, he is surrounded entirely by smiling males. There is not one woman in sight.
"Bush policy could limit democrats' questions" - The Bush White House, irritated by pesky questions from congressional Democrats, will no longer entertain questions from opposition lawmakers on the House and Senate appropriation committees unless they run through a GOP committee chairman first. In other words, you can forget about learning how much the White House spent making and installing the "Mission Accomplished" banner for Dubya's photo op on May 1.
"Dean says war wasn't justified" - Dean says US force is not warranted simply because a nation is ruled by a despot.
"Clark: I won't get us into a mess" - Clark notes that we did not exhaust diplomatic possibilities before invading, and we don't have a plan.
"Bush praises job programs, raises funds in Winston-Salem" - The article mentions that since Bush got 56% of the NC vote in 2000, NC has lost 140,000 mfg jobs. It says even Republicans are critical the GOP will not force sanctions on China because despite its unfair trade practices.
"9-11 probers blast delays by military" - The independent commission investigating 9/11 is being stonewalled by the White House and the Defense Department. Investigators are complaining of serious delays in obtaining necessary records and documents. The commission has issued a second round of subpoenas.
