Does anyone know how often a Draft Board would meet?

I got my packet today to be a member of my local draft board. It stated that you have to attend initial training, and then re-training and updating as needed. This would be in addtion to doing the actual work of the draft board.

Well, attending training sessions shouldn't be a problem, but my question is: If the draft is reinstated, how often would the draft board meet? I have a full time job, and am a single parent to two small kids. I could take occasional days off from work, but not frequent ones. And there's child care to consider as well.

So, if anyone has any memories of the old days when the draft was still occurring, could you let me know? I'm wondering if I should continue with the application process. Thanks.

I'll venture a guess that it depends how many draftees in the board's territory choose to appeal their classification. I couldn't find anything on the Selective Service website that gives a clue.

I applied on the internet to be on the draft board, but I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. I think I applied a week or two ago.
