Hooray! Freepers petition to investigate Memogate!
Ya Hoo! The freepers are carrying water for our cause!

They've developed a petition for a full investigation of Memogate! And they're pushing for 100,000 signatures.

Very, very cool. We want an investigation, too. The freeper attention will keep the story alive for us. (Discovery's a bitch.)

8. I think grasswire means
keeping the story alive also will focus on what ethics violations the Repukes may have committed to get the memo in the first place.

18. Not to mention the candid nature of the memo, essentially saying
that Bush is a lying bastard. Psychologically very powerful.

2. Great.
I always thought Bush & Co. will be brought down by their own, just like Nixon.

To: Senate Ethics Committee
The Democrat senators on the Senate Select Intelligence Committee are putting American lives at risk.

The Democrat memo that surfaced last week uncovered a detailed “plan” by Democrats on the Select Intelligence Committee to use the resources of that committee as a political tool against the White House. Under the guise of a non-partisan “investigation” the Democrats plan, as revealed by the memo, is to find something, anything, to “castigate the majority” and make it appear that “senior administration officials who made the case for. . . war . . . dubious motives and methods.” They have already concluded that BEFORE conducting an investigation!

The memo admits that “ don't know what will find,” yet they have already arrived at their conclusion! All they know is that they have an opportunity to use the power of the Select Intelligence Committee against the President, for political gain, and they “intend to take full advantage of it.”

Senator Zell Miller, a Democrat himself, had this to say about the memo:

“I have often said that the process in Washington is so politicized and polarized that it can’t even be put aside when we’re at war. Never has that been proved more true than the highly partisan and perhaps treasonous memo prepared for the Democrats on the Intelligence Committee.

“Of all the committees, this is the one single committee that should unquestionably be above partisan politics. The information it deals with should never, never be distorted, compromised or politicized in any shape, form or fashion. For it involves the lives of our soldiers and our citizens. Its actions should always be above reproach; its words never politicized.

“If what has happened here is not treason, it is its first cousin. The ones responsible - be they staff or elected or both should be dealt with quickly and severely sending a lesson to all that this kind of action will not be tolerated, ignored or excused.

“Heads should roll!”

(I don't think there is a copyright on petitions)

7. WTF?
They can ignore the outting of a CIA agent, but consider this treason? To quote Scrooge, "I'll retire to bedlam."

16. This is the really scary part behind all of this
Anyone who speaks out against the administration, and now even tries to investigate the administration and expose its lies, is now commiting treason, as far as FReepers are concerned.

They are fucking fascist assholes.

They always amuse me though. They congratulate themselves for not bending over to "big government" and for not letting democrats get away with any kind of shady dealings, but they turn a blind eye to anything republicans do.
On top of that, they whore themselves out for big businesses and the very rich.

These people are morons. Or is it, morans?

9. I don't think we'll see
an investigation into this, because it would lead to a Repuke stealing the memo. When Rockefeller came to the Senate floor, he said something about how there should be an investigation into how the memo got out.

I still can't see how the memo could be treasonous. Rockefeller just wants to investigate "use" of the intelligence by the White House. Repukes want him to leave the WH out of it. Well, then, how will we ever find out the truth? (Dummy, you ain't supposed to find out the truth.)

11. Yes, they certainly are!
What particularly infuriates me is that the repukes have been guilty of drafting and using the same damn type of memos, many of them far more partisan and vicious than that of the Dems. Dirty tricks are the name of the game for them. I don't know how much more of their hypocrisy I can take.

12. Well then,
I think we should all sign it. The repukes are cutting off their nose to spite their UGLY face! How stooopid can they be? If they want to investigate something perhaps they could get a petition going to investigate the WH Valerie Plame leak.

13. yep!
That's my point!

We should help them get to their 100,000 signatures.

There can't be a full investigation without revealing how Republicans got hold of the memo! And it can't be fair unless the whole chain of custody is outlined. How did Hannity get it? Hm?? Discovery's a bitch.

Bring it on, freepers! Make our day.

Huh? What a damn FRUITCAKE!

19. That is the most confusing part
They are upset because the democrats are somehow putting American lives in danger, and are trying to politicize a war....

Wait, wasn't it Bush who said, of the terrorist attacks agaisnt our troops, "bring 'em on"?

Wasn't it Bush who lied repeatedly about reasons for going to war?

Wasn't it Bush who said that Iraqi oil could pay for this invasion?

Wasn't it Bush who said that Iraq was an imminent threat?

Wasn't it Bush who forced the war vote to occur just before the midterm elections?

Wasn't it Bush who said, "You are either with us, or you are with the terrorists"?

Wasn't it Bush who said that repeated terrorist attacks will not make us leave Iraq?

Wasn't it Bush that put these soldiers in harm's way?

Wasn't it Bush who, supposedly in the middle of a war on terror, took two monthlong vacations in two years?

But its the Democrats, by wanting to investigate the supposed "bad intelligence" and the lies in an effort to protect our troops, who are politicizing this war???????

Fuck, what the hell is wrong with the god damned illiterate, inbread FReeper sons of bitches in this fucking country??????

478. Eric Connine Yes let's investigate the memo that leaked info that said the Bush Administration fell short on 9/11. And do it quick, because Frisk's shutting down the committee because of this leak is a slap in the face to every person killed on 9/11 and thier families. Investigate EVERYTHING now, and let the chips fall where they may... I love watching Republicans implode because of their own scandals and coverups.

23. You all give freepers way too much credit
Freepers are little men with little dicks sitting at a computer screen making like they have balls enough do to something more than to self abuse each other and their brain dead women folk.

Their leader Jim Rob is a mental case and they'd all follow him over a cliff if he jumped first.

Mrs. Investigate Bush

Yes, I say we should definitely investigate this "Watergate-like" theft of a classified document. We need to know who broke into Rockefeller's office or hacked his office computer and stole it. Then maybe we can get to the bottom of the 911 cover up and the Valerie Plame leak that just happens to be a felony. Yes, indeed, this is a GREAT petition! Finally, we can get to the corruption of the current WH. :7

G-D I despise those idiotic fools!
