The casket of Army Pfc. Anthony D'Agostino is carried from the Immaculate Conception Church following funeral services in Waterbury, Conn., Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003. D'Agostino was one of 16 U.S. soldiers killed after a CH-47 Chinook helicopter was shot down over Iraq (news - web sites) on Nov. 2. D'Agostino of Waterbury, was attached to the 16th Signal Brigade in Fort Hood, Texas. He would have turned 21 on Thursday, the day his remains were flown back to Connecticut. (AP Photo/Jack Sauer)

President George W. Bush (news - web sites) shakes hands with the President of Forsyth Technical Community College Dr. Gary Green(L) before speaking about job training and the state of the economy in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, November 7, 2003. Bush, seizing on good economic news on a day when U.S. forces suffered another deadly setback in Iraq (news - web sites), hailed signs the job market may be recovering at last. 1. Stupid ass frat boy
Edited on Sat Nov-08-03 06:59 PM by Marianne
that is all he is.
This photo looks as though he is still drinking. He has not an inkling of anything that is going on and only looks forward to his next European trip with his fat assed first slump where they are toasted ad nauseum. Stupid asshole who participates in theatrical acts--such as that which he performed on May 1 upon the USS Lincoln. Stupid asshole--stupid, little man, ignoramus, who did not win an election, but had to coup it in order to get the fascists in.

4. They should, shouldn't they? It should be the least they can do.
Especially the ones for whom the vote was yes.

3. "When the War Is Done"
The pictures remind me of this sad song from before the invasion by Si Kahn, "When the War Is Done":

So many times in history
We’ve watched them march away
Some cry out for victory
Some just stand and pray
For this father’s daughter
For this mother’s son
What will happen to the rest of us
When the war is done

Some are quick to honor
Some are quick to blame
Few can face the truth
That this all happens in our name
Before the first shot’s fired
Our battle has begun
What will happen to the rest of us
When the war is done

Those who fight the battles
Are not those who make the laws
But bravery is still bravery
Even in an unjust cause
From the hand that signs the order
To the hand that fires the gun
What will happen to the rest of us
When the war is done

Some lie solitary
Beneath a hero’s stone
Some return to loved ones
But will always be alone
Something sacred will be lost
Even when the war is won
What will happen to the rest of us
When the war is done
