This is what the "deck of cards" is for

It serves no real purpose for the military effort.

Its sole purpose is to give the illusion of progress. This was their contigency planning. In case things went wrong, as they obviously did, in case we can't show any REAL progress, they can knock off Aces or Kings at key times, to put a happy face on the disaster.

I have the suspicion that the killing of U and Q are meaningless militarily. I also have the suspicion that there was no "walk in tipster," that these guys were Aces in the Bushies hand, so to speak, to be played at the right time.

Same goes for WMD. They're sitting on something, very little doubt in my mind.

Lester Holt was in Jessica Lynch's hometown, and he asked a local middle-aged woman what she thought of the killing of U and Q.

The woman was definitely not impressed. She said something like "well, I guess it's a good thing, though I don't like to hear about anyone being killed."

That's the attitude the whores are working against. They have to make people think that getting these two guys is a "huge win", and that's where the deck of cards comes in.

They also have to get the people to rejoice in the deaths of these two men and the boy, and that's where Chris Matthews and co. come in. Tweety was spraying all kinds of ephitets and graphic descriptions of their crimes all over the airwaves last night. Didn't say a whole lot about the 14-year-old, however.

that the Pentagram already knew where these guys were, and that the "walk-in" tipster merely helped to confirm that report. Sounds like they are trying to renege on the reward!
