how much do you think Dean will raise this quarter?
it's been reported by the Associated Press that he raised $5 million in October.

in the past week or so he's raised or received pledges (from the 100.000+ people that voted about opting in/out) in excess of $5.3 million.

I'm gonna guess he raises $22.8 million in Q4.

what are your thoughts?

1. well he has really put the pressure on us to deliver
so I think we will. He will break his own record of $14.8 million. I think he will raise around $20 million.

2. I Have No Idea
I had no idea we Dean supporters were capable of this kind of fundraising.

I'll say $15 million to be a little cautious (!), but who knows?

6. Dean had a great line in his announcement.
He said that not only did he believe that 2,000,000 Americans would donate $100 to defeat George Bush, he thought that they would even borrow $100 to defeat George Bush. His mouth is a loose cannon. I like it.

4. I'm guessing $18M-$21M. Christmas is coming.
But late Q1 and early Q2 of 2004 should be great...tax refund time!

12. If your guess is close
then one has to wonder if he won't end up coming damn close to Bush's expected $200M. Especially considering that his base of contributors is likely to grow as other dem candidates drop out. I mean, he's raising this kind of money while at about 15% in the national polls.

It just sounds good. Anyway, if he can get me to donate, then I think he's onto something.

My first donation to the Dean campaign was 5 bucks--my first donation to a political campaign EVER. That's all I had, and though I was embarrassed to give such a measly amount, it felt damn good! My second was $25, and I've kept upping it since. I'm up to $190 now--not a bad accomplishment for a poor tightwad. He's getting $100 a month from me as of November, because I voted for the opt out, and now I'm committed. I'm going to try and dig up any other spare change I can come up with on top of that. I'm also considering taking a parttime job so I can max out on my donations. I want Bush gone REAL BAD.
