There is a sizeable movement among Democrats to follow the lead of Gore... I think if Gore ran, there is absolutely NO WAY he would lose to Bush; none, zero. Therefore, I think at least a sizeable % of his people will follow his endorsement, and if it is Lieberman, it will tear the party in two.

If Lieberman somehow wins the nomination, Bush will be elected. Lieberman is far too conservative, and being too conservative is what lost Gore the election last time (if just 537 of the 97,000 plus Nader supporters in Florida would have went the other way...)

I'm moving to Canada if Bush wins, seriously, and if Gore endorses Lieberman, I'm gonna start packing my bags.

1. I doubt he will.
Gore only picked Lieberman to get the Jewish vote in Florida.

;-)

9. I don't see Gore going for Joe. He's going for the statesman role
He may well not endorse anyone.

2. Gore Owes Lieberman Nothing
And judging from his MWO speeches, he's back to his old liberal self - with nothing to lose by doing so.

I see him backing Clark. No arguements here.

4. Did you hear what Lieberman did?

Rumours are Lieberman experimented with charisma in his youth.

Seriously though, there is no chance Lieberman can win.

Imo the race is between Clark and Dean.. maybe Kerry

5. I don't think he will endorse him either
and if he feels like he has to, a sizeable majority
won't go to Joe just on his recommendation.

Gore won, but it's over and aside from his
great speeches, he doesn't influence this next race
much at all IMO.

6. Why would Gore endorse Lieberman???
I can't imagine such a thing. I *suspect* that Gore might favor Gen Clark, but as to when he might endorse him, who knows??

I would move to Canada if Bush gets elected also. Too bad we are too old and there is really no advantage to it, other than removing miles between myself and the US under Bush. So I will not move--and I will offer my house as an underground railroad (I am within hours of the border) for those who are escaping the draft, should it materialize, or those who are escaping the ire of Ashcroft and the Bush administration.

13. No-win situation
If Gore endorses Lieberman, the extreme left bolts.

If Gore endorses someone else, he looks like a backstabber because Lieberman was HIS chosen VP candidate. That limits the endorsement and pushes Lieberman people away from the party.

14. The Big Guys are likely to step in to bring some order to the race....
At present, no candidate is getting enough attention to make a dent. Nobody even breaks 20% in national polls. An endorsment from Gore or Clinton might well decide things.

Given Gore's strong statements about Iraq, it seems unlikely he would back Liebermann. Can't believe Gore or Clinton see Holy Joe as the best candidate.

18. it would make sense
Gore's not gonna endorse Lieberman.
He's gonna endorse Dean. I promise you.

that would make a lot of sense. Gore has been pretty closely associated with moveon.org recently, and Dean did the best in the moveon.org "primary".
