I realize this is a dupe thread, but DU needs to know.... Reid from Nevada (D) has been fillibustering in the Senate since 1:30 EST.... he's on CSPAN, holding to the podium, trying to keep himself from falling sometimes.

Eight hours he has been speaking, trying to show the people what is really going on. He has talked about EVERYTHING. SUPPORT HIM. Here is the number, call his office and let them know you support him!

5. not exactly...
he's protesting the fact that the repubs have scheduled a 30-hour non-stop debate on judicial nominees.

He has a great chart he's been using all day showing unemployment UP, uninsured UP, deficit UP, debt UP, but judicial vacancies DOWN.

Says it's silly to spend so much time discussing the ONLY thing that's down rather than all the things that are up.

This 30-hour non-stop debate was scheduled so they could push Bush's nominees through a tired Senate. In the meantime, our soldiers and veterans are being screwed up the ying yang.

On edit: Actually, if your name isn't 'Halliburton', you're being screwed, and not in a fun way.
