One seed at a time.

McDonald's is pretty awful... selling processed garbage as food... what a marketing concept.

5. Newscorp.
I hope Murdoch is crushed under a pile of his money, and they don't find him until the smell wafts up from the vault. He's a cancer on what little was left of journalism after the Reagan years.

8. Fleet Bank
We had a credit card with them -- at a huge interest rate -- and worked for a very long time to completely pay it off. The month before we would have accomplished that goal, they cancelled our account.

That was several years ago and they actually sent us an application a couple months ago. After a long laugh, I wrotn YUCK FOU! (only spelled correctly) on the application, put it in the envelope and returned it to them. They paid 30-some cents to be cussed at, which is a small but satisfying revenge.

14. DynCorp and JP Morgan
Either of them would be a worthy entry in this sad sweepstakes.

DynCorp has merged into Computer Sciences, CSC, which just reported big profits today as a result of "government" (meaning military) contracts. Nasty company; one example: Higher ups turned a blind eye to reports that its employees were buying and selling young teen girls in Bosnia as sex slaves.

JP Morgan turns up in all kinds of serious research about bad actions. Many of them haven't been exposed yet. J Pierpont Morgan was a well-known monopolist of nearly a century ago, and the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

For a list of the 2002 Worst Corporations, as discussed by Multinational Monitor, go to:

http://www.multinationalmonitor.org/mm2002/02december/dec02corp1.html

They have a list each year. Watch for their new list -- December 2003 issue.

21. Yeah they just tried to raise my interest rate on me.
But I wrote a letter declining their proposed changes. Fucked em right in the ass!

They had to close my account at the current APR. Prolly good for me.

12. MICROSHAFT!
I can't believe Microsoft hasn't even been named yet! It's arguably the world's most powerful corporation, when you combine its financial clout with its product: software that can easily double as spies in homes across the world. Microsoft is a major player in education deform, which might be likened to child abuse. It's bad for consumers, and it has also recently been named a national security threat.

Bill Gates is the richest jerk in the world, and Paul Allen isn't far behind. The two of them have done enormous damage to Seattle, though most residents are too stupid to realize it. Their phony philanthropy has many convinced they're good guys. If only they could see the strings attached.

24. McDonald's, Diebold, Bechtel, Time Warner, and even Halliburton,
however one may feel about some of their decisions and leaders, have all been successful in legitimate businesses.

Enron was built as a scam from the ground up.

28. MCI (formerly WorldCom)
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 12:19 AM by RatTerrier
THose other companies never did anything to me personally.

But MCI? Bunch of crooks. Sent me a $300 phone bill for $10 worth of phone calls made with 10-10-220. Near impossible to get a hold of. They send the bill off to my current local carrier (SBC) and throw away the records. So I hav to argue my bill with SBC, who have nothing to do with it, save for being billed for it by MCI.

MCI's local service (The Neighborhood) is a total scam too. Every time I see pictures of Scott Sullivan's unfinished Boca Raton fortress with the built-in movie theatre, I just want to scream and throw things at the screen.

Anyone connected with upper management for the MCI crime family deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And then some. They make the guys at Enron look like the Peace Corps.

30. Apple
They like to pretend that they are not a "corporation". But they are. I can't tell you how many people I know that have been laid off there.

Plus, I get so tired of the Apple geek-cult. The computers suck. They are designed for 15-year olds. Harry Potter fans who could never understand Kafka.
