Roll Call: Who contacted their Senators?
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 12:38 AM by WillyBrandt
Be they Democrat, or Republican, tell both of your Senators that you are against the extremist nominations. Roll Calls for those who've written/called/visited is below

Go here to find them: http://www.senate.gov/

What you can do, in order of preference:

(1) Visit them in person (impossible for most, especially now)
(2) Call their office
(3) Write a letter
(4) Send an e-mail

Each one is far better than the one below, but all are better than nothing.

Take five minutes: contact them.

If you have contacted your Senator(s), give a shout out here--name the Senators and the State!

(My letter to Dodd/Lieberman of CT below)

--------------------------------------------------
Dear Sen. Lieberman ,

I just moved to X, Connecticut recently, but I must say that I am proud to have you as a Senator.

I'll be brief: please do everything you can to prevent the installation of the far-right judges that Bush is proposing. Please help your Democratic colleagues who are doing their part in frustrating the Republicans who are playing games with their 30-hour filibuster.

This is an issue of total importance. The future direction of the nation and its laws is very literally at stake. Quesions which we thought were settled are being opened by an extremist administration.

Please help your colleagues block these terrible nominations. As a young and politically active Democrat, I very much hope that you will do your duty and protect our courts.

Thanks, and all the best,

Mister Plow
X, CT

(Mister Plow might not be my real name)

5. Ha!
I called, and wrote. I even wrote senators who aren't mine. Senator Schumer got a humerous letter from me reminding him of how bad pResidents haunt us through the actions of their bad judges. He'll get a kick out of it. I even asked Schumer to read Romer v Evans on the floor of the Senate. I doubt he'll do it though.
