Dean spares the props
One aspect of Dean's campaign that I appreciate is that Dean doesn't use 'props'. I'm talking about guitars, saxophones, motorcycles, stuff that's supposed to show what a regular guy he is (I haven't seen any, always love to be educated).

That stuff bothers me. When I had to watch Clinton play his saxophone (very amateurishly) or listen to Orrin Hatch's smarmy songs (http://www.hatchmusic.com). Why do they feel they have the right to indulge the public with their hobbies?

1. Well, Dean did play a little guitar and harmonica in Iowa
but he's not making a habit of it :-)

I didn't mind Clinton playing saxophone, myself.

I guess the difference is it's done in a spirit of fun.

2. Sorry to tell you this...
But Dean has been on TV playing blues guitar. Not as smarmy or as lengthy as Hatch though.

3. Dean played the gee-tar on Leno...
...with an open guitar case in front of him, as per the sign, "Change for My Presidential Campaign." Rob Reiner donated! lol

Later.

7. That's funny
What I hate is using human beings as props as is done more and more during State of the Union Addresses. Both sides are guilty of that one.

I do agree, though, that he should try to stay away from the "I'm just an average schmoo" sort of stuff. That's the only way, imho, his wealth can be used against him...if he tries to deny it.

8. The Bat!
when he broke out that Baseball Bat, he scared the crap outta alot of people who didn't know the true meaning of "the bat"

Once again, a great concept that required explicit explanation. That's trouble with trying new things. Repeated exposure will warm alot more people up to Dean, but it'll take time and bears a risk.
