AARGGHH - Help with wingnut letter to the editor, please?
Oliver North is coming to my town for a fundraiser, and the wingnuts are coming out of the woodwork to defend him as "a Christian man who is forgiven".

Help me with this latest slimeball? You can leave online comments that will appear tomorrow...it's a free registration.

North is a patriot who risked his life to liberate Vietnam
Thursday, November 13, 2003 “Confused” rightly describes a mind that would viciously attack a national hero and an American patriot (“Oliver North cleared but Christians duped,” Oct. 28) — a man so dedicated to his country that he repeatedly placed his life on the line, received two Purple Hearts for being wounded in Vietnam, and helped freedom fighters liberate their country from the terror and tyranny of atheistic, communist slavery while under a continuous threat from terrorists such as Abu Nidal, who sought to harm his wife and children. A man so dedicated that he risked his life alongside our brave servicemen and women in the heat of battle in Iraq to bring into our living rooms the powerful portrayal of the forceful ousting of a malignant mass-murderer and pathologically brutal dictator who killed, raped and terrorized his own people and threatened and invaded his neighbors.

Contrary to the frivolous falsehood and hysterical hyperbole expressed by one of your readers, Lt. Col. North was never convicted of murder, drug trafficking and illegally selling arms. Although he was convicted of making some misleading statements and accepting a security system to protect the safety and well-being of his wife and children, his conviction was properly overturned by the very appellate court judges who were confirmed to their appointments by the same Senate that unsuccessfully sought to discredit him and granted him immunity from criminal prosecution in the first place.

Wouldn’t it be better to read the Bible to find out for ourselves what it really says and to practice the values it clearly proclaims, of loving God with all our hearts and our neighbors as ourselves, rather than living in the past of 27 years ago in a faded memory long lost in the foggy mist of a deceptive, delusional daydream?

Let’s satisfy Bush’s challengers by reinstalling Saddam
Thursday, November 13, 2003 This letter is written in response to the constant criticism of some against the effort in Iraq. I have a perfect solution that would please the Democrats who seek the presidency. Saddam is still alive; we could invite him back to reign again in Iraq. Even if gave him $10 billion for his "troubles," his financial loss and, of course, the "assassination" (as one Democrat actually called it) of his two sons, we would save $70 billion! After all, these wise leaders have discovered that Saddam offered a chance for peace and evidently did get rid of the weapons of mass destruction! It's completely inconceivable, after all, that he could have hidden them in, say, a friendly country. Perhaps after we install him again, he could be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

After reinstalling the peace-loving Saddam, we could enter into high-level negotiations with al-Qaeda. I'm sure since we could deal so effectively with Saddam in getting rid of WMDs, we could get these guys to quit terrorist attacks.

Oh, we must also release all of our detainees at Guantanamo Bay and perhaps compensate them for their time. After all, we can't violate the civil rights that are so important to the countries they come from.

This may sound absurd to many, but this is what you logically get when reading between the lines of the left-wing rhetoric. This is how sad it is when some Americans express more support of a blood-thirsty dictator than our own president because he is of the other political party.

What ever happened to the day of putting aside foreign policy differences for the good of the country in the midst of a national crisis? Do they not remember 3,000 innocent Americans killed two years ago?

1. Look
Digging up crap on Ollie North is easier than cake. Tell the freepers that they have blood on their hands if they are supporting Ollie North.

Just because he fought in Vietnam doesn't mean it excuses him. John Kerry also fought in Vietnam, however, he fought for against it and ended up exposing North for the fraud that he is.
