3. Thanks for the heads up...
he is talking about the Constitutional Convention and the Virginia Plan. Founding fathers wanted senate to appoint judges.

6. Good God
I love the tone of his voice. The entire Senate could probably hear him.

This is what we've been missing for years!!!!

However, who's words have more substance...Kennedy or Schumer?

We should do a DVD of him for the campaign. He can be the standard-bearer for the liberals.

9. MY SENATOR IS UP
Edited on Thu Nov-13-03 05:50 PM by La_Serpiente
Senator Akaka (D-Hawaii). He is awesome. He is not the fire and brimstone kind of Senator, but he is one of the nicest people I have ever met.

I think he has a hard time being negative. It's not like him.

But thanks for mentioning the Native Hawiians!!! Thankz.

15. Mikulski is ripping a new one in the repugs
can't take care of the vets, the wounded, with a bill that would have been voted on last nite, had to come here to deal with the vote on 4...

judges must be independant, not rubber stampers..
commited to integrity, and commited to core constitutional advocacy (?)

these four don't meet it.
----------------------------------
paraphrased of course.
hey this stuff is better than the national news!

for you.

rip it Teddy!

calling for increase in min. wage, repubs will not have it.
calls for extended unemp.comp. repubs will not have it.
it's all in the record, and some minor mayhem ensues...
damn.

20. Sen. Shelby must be reading a different Constitution than I have
He is saying that the only thing the Senate does in appointments is approve or deny presidential appointments, not debate them. He has also said that the Senate Dems are obstructing on an "unprecendented" level of obstruction! He seems to be forgetting what his own party was doing do Bill Clinton, and Fillibusters are allowed so that the majority does NOT run roughshod over the minorities. What a blowhard and a hypocrite!
