Could the Republican pull a sly move?

If the Senate is adjourned, could the Republicans call up the Senate 10 minutes later and pass the bill?

1. I don't think so

I think that would countervene the rules of the senate.

The bigger worry is that Vice President Cheney as President of the Senate could over turn the rules that require a two thirds majority for cloture, moving it back to a simple majority. John Dean talked about it today at Salon.com

He can't do it, executive session or not.

2. They are probably conniving as we speak...

If I were the Democrat whip, I would put the Dems on notice to be on the floor at 10PM tonight- just for psychological warfare purposes. :) Then I would have someone bring a motion to the floor. The intent would be to force the Repubs to try and round up all their members...Scare the hell out of them.
