Marathon Pajama Party to become the latest rage?
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 11:27 AM by sybylla
You can't tell me the House isn't becoming a wee bit jealous over all the attention the Senate has been getting. I bet their CSPAN rating have dropped faster than a lead battery in Letterman's "Will it Float" tank. They don't have the same excuse, but what do you wanna bet that the reichwing reps are scratching their heads looking for one?

And all that attention is only going to encourage reichwing senators to use it as a platform to demonstrate their loony views. The added benefit is the harassment of the opposition who becomes forced to work under inhuman conditions.

IMHO, we've just witnessed the beginning of a new era of living hell for Dems in DC.

on edit: in addition it is a great way to get everyone to watch closely what one house is doing while the other can pull some shenanigans.

1. Ah, Congress used to do this all the time
All-night sessions were nothing special. The only reason they have daylight hours now is because of C-Span, really; more people will be watching at 2 PM than 2 AM.

2. How could you possibly think that more exposure is good for stupid ideas?
The Republicans are really cutting their own throat with this. They should know by now that all their position points have to be reduced to soundbites to sound even remotely convincing. Increasing scrutiny means increasing the likelihood that their shit house will start to crumble.

3. I don't think it
Repukes do. Obviously. Or they wouldn't have added nine hours to this marathon pajama party after it had already been going for half a day.

Repukes make no sense to me at all. That is exactly why I think this is the new wave in fashionable political grandstanding.
