It is now up to Shelton to put up or shut up, imo. He has smeared Clark with absolutely innuendo and now refuses to explain. Pretty petty behavior, imo.

2. What I have heard is this:

Shelton is an advisor to another candidate (Dean I think) so he has an interest in making Clark look bad.
Also, at the time Clark was commander of NATO, defense sec'y Cohen wanted to put one of his buddies in that position so Clark was forced out.
Stormin' Norman, who repeated Shelton's comments, has never worked with Clark and really does not know him, but will say anything to make a challenger to Shrub look bad.
Clark has addressed these issues, but the baseless accusations are of course getting more press than his statements...
