Delay Using Kids to make Money for GOP parties, cruises
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 01:13 PM by Mari333
How low can they go.....

(CBS) House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has organized a charity that benefits abused and neglected children – and the Republican Party, the New York Times reports.

The newspaper said potential donors were being asked to give up to $500,000 to spend time with DeLay at the GOP convention in New York City next year. DeLay's office said most of the funds collected will go to children, but money from the charity will also be used to pay for GOP yacht cruises, convention parties and a luxury suite.

4. I know! Actually giving some of the money to needy kids?!?
How do his fellow Repubs let him give away perfectly good smear campaign money to kids who are too young to vote and too poor to ever vote Republican?

6. I despise DeLay as much as anyone here...
but the truth is that the man does do a great deal in his PERSONAL life to work for children. For example, he and his wife have been foster parents for quite some time, and he does donate a good chunk of money to children's charities.

The problem comes with DeLay's PUBLIC life, in which he tries to make life more difficult for the poor (and children) every time he opens his mouth, along with trying to impose his Christian reconstructionist views on everyone else. Plus, he's a meanspirited, vindictive bastard throughout the whole process.

8. EVERYTHING DeLay is a FRONT for his political actions
If you read the article, he ONLY formed this "charity" in September whith his wife and children as officers, and Frist hasn't even fornmed his.

DeLay is lower than the bugs he used to exterminate. He has found a loophole which I hope NO Democrat ever tries to exploit.

They are all scum.

7. Dem wants DeLay's job.
I can only hope and may give money to Morrison, even though I'm not in DeLay's district.

Democratic Candidate Launches Web Sites in Bid Against Tom DeLay <http://www.TakingOnTomDeLay.com> First time congressional candidate Richard Morrison today launched two Web sites to signal his entry into the race to unseat Republican Congressman Tom DeLay. The first, www.RichardMorrisonforDistrict22.com <http://www.RichardMorrisonforDistrict22.com> features introductory information about Morrison and invites voters to join his campaign to unseat the controversial Majority Leader.

10. Here are their Congressional office phone numbers
Want to do something, call them, tell you friends, have everyone call them. Unless you raise your voice in outrage, he succeeds. Write you local paper, write the Washington Post, don't let this slip quietly into the night. If these two get away with it, others will follow.
