Should Clark supporters hope for a Gephardt victory in Iowa?
The conventional wisdom seems to be that if Howard Dean prevails in Iowa his momentum will be hard to stop in subsequent contests. On the other hand, a Gephardt victory in Iowa might slow Dean down in subsequent states, while doing little for Gephardt himself. So I am thinking that perhaps it would be best for Clark and the other major candidates to hope for a Gephardt victory in Iowa.

7. Strategically
Yes, Clark should hope Gep pulls off a win in Iowa. Dean would lose momentum and Gephardt probably isn't a long-term threat. Dean has NH in his pocket. Clark will have to kick it in around SC and otherwise to start rockin' the house party. I'd say Clark is better off the sooner folks like Joe and Kerry drop out, because their voters probably aren't gonna jump on the Dean bandwagon unless it's simply clear the good doctor is a juggernaut.

9. I Think You Might Be A Little Hasty About NH
New Hampshire people are pretty pragmatic. I think when they begin to really think about Dean vs. Bush, I don't think the bubble will last very long.

Of course, for this to happen Kerry has to get into high gear. It's not like the media is going to criticize Dean during the primaries.
