Rush Probably literally crapping his pants right now (link included)
http://www.oxycontinaddiction.info/withdrawal.htm

"Symptoms of Withdrawal include : diarrhea..."

OxyContin withdrawal is similar heroin withdrawal , it is almost impossible to go through alone. Withdrawal symptoms of OxyContin are worse than heroin and last longer. Professional help from a drug rehab center is the best and safest way to do this. Unfortunately, there is no known "painless" method for OxyContin withdrawal.

Symptoms of Withdrawal include :

diarrhea

insomnia

cold flashes

muscle pain / bone pain

restlessness

involuntary leg movement

vomiting

nausea

severe stomach cramps

Real World Withdrawal Story - "It's pure hell. The hot and cold sweats, leg cramps, some abdominal problems, diarrhea and / or vomiting. You need not only to be de-toxed, but also treated. If you are really at your end, you will do whatever it takes to get your life back. I did. I love life today. Good Luck. The withdrawals are a long 2 to 3 weeks of no sleep. I know, I've been there. That's why it's impossible to do it out-patient or at home. You have issues to deal with, and need reinforcement."

2. I wouldn't assume he's going through withdrawal at all
He's probably popping some oxycontin, at this very moment.

Rush was in rehab for five weeks, and returned to the same lifestyle he had before. That's DIDDLY SHIT. That's akin to officially declaring one's intent to relapse. People have to fall a lot further than Rush has so far, before they turn it around.

5. Rush is the 70's Elvis of Talk Radio...
...and just as sad-

...both were once genre defining giants in their fields- both ended up crapping themselves...

3. The only way
he can get over this addiction is for him to come to terms with himself. I hope he is seeking psychiatric help because this is probably not just a physiological problem as well.

4. Withdrawal would be over by now...
physical withdrawal, anyway. He's still going to be going through the psychological withdrawal, but the nasty convulsions and diarrhea and so on pretty much run their course in the first week or two.

8. Uh, maybe.... physical withdrawal has a lot of factors....
body mass of individual
length of addiction (how long?)
magnitude of addiction (how much?)
age and general physical condition of individual
pain tolerance

Good indicators for a short physical withdrawal period:
low body mass, short addiction of low to moderate dosages, young, good physical health and high muscle to fat ratio, high pain tolerance.

Rush isn't a good candidate for a short withdrawal. Oxycontin is also a long withdrawal drug - heroin is 7-14 days.... Oxycontin is 15-30 days, on average.

Personally, I think he's probably on some "methadone" concept.... someone prescribed for him.

Will he change? No. No one's making him.

Besides, (Sarcasm: ON) He's not really an addict. He has never begged for money to buy his drug or lost a job because of it or drank kerosene to get a buzz. (/sarcasm) He denies he has a problem and always will.

Too bad he hasn't realized. He could be a voice for change within the wingnut movement.

13. Well, let's see...
his body mass is WAY down (he's looking positively scrawny, in fact; all those opiates killing the appetite, I guess)...but, you're probably right, he's probably on methadone maintenance. Somehow I don't see him sticking out the really tough parts of withdrawal and recovery (and, having heard his triumphant return to radio, he sounds like he'll relapse very soon if he hasn't already...you can tell he DOESN'T have the appropriate mindset for his recovery to be successful).

9. That's what I think.
My younger brother at age 15 did heroin for about 15 years and could not stop. He ended up on methadone which he was on until he died at 40. (He didn't die from anything drug-related)

10. You seem to have
an unhealthy fixation with Limbaugh. More so than his obsession with the Clenis.

And how Rush is a hypocrite on that issue.

I do find Rush's bizzare ,unhealthy & homoerotic fixation on Clinton's genitals to be creepy too...I mean- a heterosexual man talking about Clinton's "semen" and "dirty parts" for what- 6 years??? He was high on heroin-like drugs the whole time anyway-maby that explains it!!!

I believe Rush's on air drug-rants were an FCC violation- to go on the air while impaired by illegal street drugs- one more "high" Crime for the pill-popper to face up too...

But high volume drug deals and possible needle use is serious business-

Bush & Rush have both said that narcotics deals fuel Terrorism- I wonder if Rush will ever say that on his show again? Nah- he would rather play it safe, and cuddle up to Clinton's nut-sac...

...so long as it is powerful, extremely mind-altering, and in copius quantities.

I say that even the mildest of controlled chemicals should be kept from this fiend- we dont know what he might do next...
