Geezus...Why can't the New Republic represent left of center issues
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 01:54 AM by La_Serpiente
once in a while. I thought that was what they were supposed to be. Weren't they were supposed to be the liberal counterpart to the National Reveiw.

Well, they wrote this article that is entitled "Good News, Bad News". It talks about the recent victory of the Democrats in Louisiana. The main theme of the article is this:

Democrats finally pick up a governor's seat with a win in Louisiana. Unfortunately, that was the one place where the Republican might have done a better job.

I am just over the New Republican and their BS. Liberman won the October Presidential primary for their magazine and they continually rag down on Clark, Kerry, Dean, and anyone else. I wish they would just admit that they were right-wingers. I mean, they have most of the neo-cons on their magazine staff and Andrew Sullivan is an editor for them. No wonder their circulation has been decreasing over the years.

1. You've got that right...
...they brag about how they're the liberal voice, but they've been a center-right publication since the last months of the Carter era.

2. ex-subscriber here
Indeed. It nothing but an overintellectualized rag for the DLC. No populist appeal at all.
