Has made most of us proud with her refutation of the "official" version of her story. That said, here is a snip from a Mark Morford email this morning. Can't give a link, but take my word for it: NOBODY writes like Morford so I couldn't possibly have faked this outrageously funny bit...
""I Am a Soldier, Too," has sold about 25,000 copies in its first two days, according to publisher Alfred A. Knopf. "The sales for the first two days are the strongest for any title we've published this year," Knopf publicist Paul Bogaards said Thursday, in this weird sighing resigned voice that dripping with ironic detachment and savage depression at the state of the book world. "Not surprisingly, 23,954 of those copies were sold to drunk jingoists wandering the aisles of Sam's Club in rural Texas." Contrary to rumors, the book, which will be on the $1.99 remainder bin in less time than it takes to finish this sentence, right next to "Kelly Ripa's 10 Minutes To A More Obnoxious Personality That Makes Your Spouse Want to Eviscerate You With A Fork," does not come with a free copy of that photo of Donny Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam in 1983.
