I found this amusing. Former Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore would beat current Gov. Riley if an election were held today.

Riley (R) 30
Moore (R) 47
Unsure 23

Then again, there is always that undecided column.

Gov. Riley pulls low ratings in survey

Governor would trail Moore, Siegelman in 2006 race

Almost one year into a term defined by the state's financial troubles and Gov. Bob Riley's failed tax plan to fix them, fewer than three out of 10 Alabamians approve of the job the governor is doing, the results of a new statewide poll suggest.

An even smaller share of respondents to the Mobile Register-University of South Alabama poll approve of Riley's specific handling of state finances and his efforts to cut "waste and corruption" from government, a theme of his campaign and administration.

5. What about Siegelman v. Moore?
I wonder what would happen then. I don't see that potential battle in the poll. That might very well happen if Moore defeats Riley in the republican primary.

7. I say let him run. If these idiots want him as governor
let them accept the consequences. I predict he would be impeached within a year for his insanity or being caught in bed with a goat. These people are always sexually repressed and have some giant skeletons that inevitably pop out, viz:

Limbaugh

Bennett

Gingrich

and the list goes on and on and on

Why dont they recall Riley and Moore can run as the right wing nut job. No offense to the good people of alabama but if they want him they deserve him.

10. You mean if a Republican PRIMARY for governor were held today
Moore would win. This says nothing about an actual final election. Big difference. Your headline is very misleading.
