I've been salivating over these next few days and have hoped against hope that he wouldn't cancel. He didn't

The SonofaBitch is there. In London. In the fricking Palace (presumably). It's six p.m. EST as I post this. What is it...five hours ahead in London?

What time do I need to get up tonight to find the BBC website and start to watch the streaming for 9:00 GMT? I'm setting my alarm clock. This, I will not miss. Not for love, money or SLEEP!!!

Anybody?

all wrapped into one......with a big red bow......for all of us (the WORLD who is on to the little evildoer).

and the primary FOCUS of the entire trip is: look at the idiot King folks!!!!!!

Lord.....if he spikes his tea......will he dance around like King Richard? ahahahahahahahaha (and no offense intended to any gay men who might like to wear tights and twirl! I am down with that...but boy would I like to see King Georgie Porgie let his hair down and just give in to his other side......the lighter side).

7. oooooo, an itinerary.........
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 06:19 PM by E_Zapata
PRESIDENT BUSH'S ITINERARY

Tuesday 18 November - Arrives and receives private welcome at Buckingham Palace (HE WENT BY HELICOPTER; doesn't he know those things just fall from they sky?)

Wednesday 19 November - Meets Michael Howard and Charles Kennedy, gives speech on transatlantic alliance and meets UK families of 11 Sept victims before attending royal banquet with Queen (GOOD LUCK, King George)

Thursday 20 November - Meets British soldiers who fought in Afghanistan and Iraq, holds meetings with Tony Blair at Downing Street and hosts dinner at US Ambassador's residence

Friday 21 November - Travels to Tony Blair's Sedgefield constituency to meet members of the public before returning to Washington

(Meeting members of the public? Now, are the taxpayers paying to provide ACTORS to serve as the 'public'?

EDIT: didn't know that brackets makes my commentary disappear!

***Scotland Yard is spending 5 mill pounds for security...and putting 5000 cops on the streets of London! Wow, you would think that George was in danger or something.......like he might have some enemies.

That will help. Lots of "private" meeings, I see.....now why on earth would the man (I use the term loosely) not be out in PUBLIC GIVING SPEECHES TO THE ADORING THRONGS???????????

Why, I ask you, why?

Who planned this trip.

26. And Bush has chickened out of doing that in public
According to The Times (subscription needed for non-UK, I'm afraid):

"Last-minute security fears have led to Mr Bush, whose Secret Service codename is Trailblazer, cancelling his only major public appearance during his three days in London. The President has hurriedly dropped plans to meet the families of the British victims of the September 11 attacks, at the memorial garden outside the US Embassy in Grosvenor Square this afternoon. This event would have been the longest time that Mr Bush was in public view and the closest that he would have got to wellwishers and demonstrators.

The official reason for the sudden change of heart is that Mr Bush wants this emotional meeting with the families to take place away from the public glare, so that their private talks will now be held inside the heavily fortified embassy. The President agreed to this change just before he boarded Air Force One to begin his journey.

Nervous Secret Service agents are reportedly worried that protesters in Grosvenor Square may have tried to emulate the veteran peace campaigner, Lindis Percy, 61, who eluded police and scaled the gates of Buckingham Palace.

This means that apart from his official welcome from the Queen in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace this morning, all the public will see of Mr Bush is him getting in and out of his armour-plated car after a 100-yard drive from the side of the Palace to the front."

9. Well our brothers and sisters in the UK aren't waiting
Bless them all, but especially grandmother Lindis Percy. Hot damn I love all these feisty women all over the world. I'm sure Sally Baron is raising a glass toasting Percy in Heaven right now saying "Ah yes Mrs Percy, bush is such a whistle ass".

Bush arrives for state visit
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/3279179.stm
Despite the huge numbers of police preparing for the visit, grandmother Lindis Percy, 61, managed to climb the front gates of Buckingham Palace on Monday to protest, before coming down voluntarily.

Mrs Percy, of Hull, who was arrested and later bailed, said she was "amazed" she had been able to unfurl a banner declaring Mr Bush was not welcome in the UK.

Clare Anderson, from London, waves what resembles a US flag with a swastika painted on it, as she joins anti-Bush protestors when they marched through central London, Tuesday, Nov.18 2003. US President George W Bush arrived in London Tuesday evening for a four-day state visit. (AP Photo / PA, Johnny Green)

17. "worst guest ever"
from mykeru.com:

"Still, no matter what's deluding George lately, Britain is going to be an absolute turd in the punch bowl for Bush. When this trip was planned in the "Mission Accomplished" stage of the Iraq War, no doubt Bush saw this trip as the political equivalent of spiking the ball in the end zone and wiggling his ass. It doesn't seem to be turning out that way for him. The situation in Iraq not as peachy as he would have had it when he was posing for photos on the USS Abraham Lincoln. Now he is faced with the prospect of having to publicly pat himself on the back while Americans and British soldiers die in his war, which may explain why Bush did the unheard of "I care" moment on the South Lawn.

The British may not be as dutiful in making sure protesters are as far away from the fortunate son as they would be in America. And that seems to scare the big pseudo Texan shit out of the man.

Already Bush has shown what a ballsy, straight-shootin' Gary Cooper kind of guy he is by cancelling his address to the British parliament for fear of being heckled. Now Bush will only address a hand-picked "invited audience" while in the UK.

What a contemptuous coward: He sends people's sons and daughters off to die for an ill-defined mission based on lies and corruption, he plays the tough guy and boasts "bring 'em on" and defies death using other people lives when he says "We're going to stay tough" and then he simply lacks the guts to face critics in any form?"

24. Hee--almost an exact match--!!
Do you think that she goes to sleep with that joker smile pasted on her face? Pitiful woman--but since she is willingly supporting the killing of our soldiers in Iraq for no other reason than that her own two daughters will profit from somebody's will, either George's , or his daddy or hers or the hag that sits in Kennebunkport in her hospital gown, I have little pity for her--she is an example of what we do NOT want our daughters to become.
