5. Molinari was a pathetic hoot
She was so intimidated by him it was funny. And he dismissed her as the fluff she is.

I was just sorry it didn't go on longer.

Vidal was priceless.

6. Omg...Is Gore Aware of BBV??
Did you hear his comments about the chimpass* selection. He refered to Gore getting 60,000 more votes and really seemed to want to expand on it. He did say that there is "voting chicanery" going on! I think he may be aware of BBV. If not he needs to be told just how much "chicanery" is going on! Attention: Bev and David!!!

8. He is well aware of it..
From the LA Weekly article posted above:

Marc Cooper: Speaking of elections, is George W. Bush going to be re-elected next year?

Gore Vidal:No. At least if there is a fair election, an election that is not electronic. That would be dangerous. We don’t want an election without a paper trail. The makers of the voting machines say no one can look inside of them, because they would reveal trade secrets. What secrets? Isn’t their job to count votes? Or do they get secret messages from Mars? Is the cure for cancer inside the machines? I mean, come on. And all three owners of the companies who make these machines are donors to the Bush administration. Is this not corruption?

So Bush will probably win if the country is covered with these balloting machines. He can’t lose.

17. "60,000 more votes" refers to the 'felon purge'

NOT electronic vote tampering.

which is NOT to say that electronic vote tampering isn't an IMPORTANT topic.

7. This is what he said.
Whew, he went up against Susan Molinari saying, paraphrasing here:

Bush is very unpopular through all of Europe, but if he says the right things he will be helped by the visit. Since the Iraq war has gone badly he can only go up. Blair is beyond help for lying to the House of commons, which is not acceptable in England like in the USA where lying to congress is considered brilliant.

Susan criticized him for saying bad things about an elected President so Vidal said that was Bush selected by the Supreme Court. The was chicanery in the ballots where there is evidence that votes had been changed after the fact. Says bush not fit for the job. Talks about how to keep country from falling into the hands of people who invent patriot acts.

He said we need a new constitutional convention now to restore the Bill of Rights and all the articles of the Constitution that are being destroyed.

Then they cut him off. Christopher Hitchens is on now.

It wasn't anywhere near long enough though. Susan asked him if there should be a constitutional amendment against gays getting married. He said he hadn't given it a thought, but there should be a constitutional amendment restoring the bill of rights.

Also when he was giving his reasons why bush* shouldn't be president, he said bush* didn't know geography and he mentioned other stuff that I can't remember.

19. He mentioned *'s lack of purpose
Lack of presidential skills, lack of curiosity, such as knowing history (american), knowing anything about the world around him, his lack of diplomatic skills, and his not knowing any other language outside of English (yeah, I know -- he doesn't know english very well either).

14. he was awesome
Notice how quickly they cut him off? He was brilliant in brushing aside the twit Molinari, and from what was said this isn't the first time they've tangled.

How sad that so many of our elders (Vidal, Byrd) are standing up for our rights while so many young people are getting more and more conservative. Isn't anyone listening?

16. I think today's youngsters
are muct more selfish and self-centered that those of yesteryear. We had to work for every nickel we got, whereas a lot of today's youngsters have had everything handed to them.

21. Two things I wish...
That Susan would learn the difference between a majority and a plurality and that the changeling who is wearing Christopher Hitchens' body would go back to his home planet and let the guy who wrote Prepared For The Worst return.
