I will be a first time voter
in next years elections. I have not been political because of the religion I was in but always leaned towards Democrats. Now I am out of it and want to be an active participant in matters. At this point I want to vote for Democrats however, since i have been paying attention to issues I am becoming more and more dissappointed with Democrats. I know so many in the communty that are apathetic and don't vote saying it doesn't matter who is in office it's the same old thing and I don't want to get to feeling that way.

Please someone tell me do you see a future for yourself with the Democratic party? If so why? I am just totally dissapointed with this party and today it is hitting me a little harder than usual I suppose.

2. The point is, to me,
to get involved. To REALLY get involved, I feel like I have two choices - the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. I have always voted Democratic and basically aligned myself with that party.

I just have never become active until now. In the coming years, I fully intend to be very active. I feel that is the ONLY way to change things.

Support, support, work, work. For every Democratic candidat I possible can and still make a living at my job. Become involved in the party so that I can have my own little say in what goes on. Do my own little part to help our country get back on the right track and keep this from happening again in my lifetime.

That is my own little dream. And I intend to work for it with all the effort I can give. After all, nothing worth having ever came easy.

3. Why don't you start getting involved in politics on a local level
most places are non partisan at the local/city level and you might enjoy that and be able to make a real difference in the place you live. Nationally, voting democrat in the future elections just may save democracy for our grandchildren, that is worth a lot. I have been saying that the republicans have been working toward a dynasty and complete control since 1988 when they chose Dan Quayle. Unless you wish to lead an armed revolution your only choice may be to ignore the little details and vote democratic for the good of the country.

4. I think we can get our party back
The dems have been so cowed by the repugs and their "popularity." I think the tide has turned. With the popularity of of people like Clark and Dean who are finally fighting back with spirit, I think we have the dems' attention now.

Besides, you're not going to be voting for a party but for individuals. For example, my Rep. is Barbara Lee, who's fabulous. Also Barbara Boxer is mine. It's easy to get excited about people like that.

5. repubs were fringe for forty years
and were out of power. Now they have gained because of slick campaigns full of half truths and outright misleading. People are going to see whats happening soon and wake up. Seriously, why do you think they have been in second place for forty years? And what has changed? Nothing but perception. People percieve they are stronger on military issues, people percieve they are lowering taxes. Nothing is real with them. Its smoke and mirrors. So to answer your question , yes, you would be wise to invest your time and money with the Democrats. Theyll be back in power in a few years.

6. Here's the deal
I plan to vote for the Democrat. I then plan to fight like a wolverine to make sure that Democrat, if victorious, is pushed in the peoper direction. Voting is the first act in a long, long play.

7. You Are A VoterVirgin
Let yourself feel loved, cuz we sure are glad you have made the commitment to vote.
If you wanna, you can register for the VoterVirgin Class of '04 on the site. We will be polling you and fellow VoterVirgins on the issues throughout the year and hope to give you a voice with the candidates. It's also a fun and silly way to encourage your friends to vote as well.

Welcome to democracy.

Peace,
Teresa
