Dem. leaders and the same as GOP scum! Watching Bush/Blair smiling
and joking at yesterday's news conference hours after nearly 500 were wounded. Why doesn't a Dem. candidate, currently elected Dem., Clinton, American Media Whores, a moral GOP leader(if such a creature exits), a Hollywood Star(whom are the 0.001% of the only moral voice left in America); stand up and announce this is sick behaviour for any elected officials not matter what party affiliation. There is something called respect and dignity of human life. (I guess it's something NOT in the GOP Christian Bible!)

What's happened to our country since the Coup of 2000 and the GOP Reign of Terror?

1. the plan
darker, while I fully empathize with your feelings, I think that is the split-screen the terrorists hoped to achieve. In other words, there is a jarring effect when we hear the horror of what's going on over there, all the while our "leaders" smile and entertain themselves at state dinners.

2. I agree ... your sentiments cut right thru the whole left v. right stigma

... a topic of another thread today ...

it comes down to right v. wrong ... and, your call is a genuine call for bona fide leadership ... we need a bold voice like never before ... a call for reason and common sense ... there is an aperture and a vacuum for such a leader ... someone needs to step up and carpe diem the morality of things involved here ... the soul and conscience of a Nation and the World are there for the taking ...

I'm not comfortable with the consummating 'their clinks' (toasts) or "Delice de Fletan Roti aux Herbes" while death and destruction lay on the field of battle ... the Henry the Vs giving obligatory soliloquies after the battle for Agincourt while standing on the carnage ... or * standing on similar in NYC after 911 ... it is sick.

I'd like to know how the state visit came to be ... who invited whom? when was it scheduled? why, now, first time since 1918?

the Queen has seen them come and go, and I doubt if she she appreciates being played like a violin ... based on what I've observed, there seemed to have been some dour expressions on people's faces.

I doubt if Tony Blair needed the state visit ... I'm sure it only dredged up resentment building in the UK against him

something wasn't quite 'right' during the pomp and circumstance

3. I think all candidates missed by NOT declaring "I will never take a
vacation, never go fund raising, never travel overseas while our children are fighting a war and dying in another country until the situation is completely resolved!"

It seems to me General Ken Clark Lay would have been the one to say this being a military person.
