Conversations with an Ex-Hawk
Just talked to a guy I hadn't spoken with in a few months. Back in April and May, he was a huge Bush supporter, backed him 100%, wanted to bomb Iraq into oblivion, etc.

Interestingly, as the months rolled on and as more and more truth came to light, he became more and more pissed off at Bush and more and more convinced that he'd been duped.

It's nice to talk to a walking, talking example of what I've been saying about the American people waking up.

He used to scream at me for saying Bush was a liar, today he said "Bush had a lot of fucking gall to lead the country to war on false pretenses." Damn it's nice to hear someone wake up.

This guy has been a hardcore Bush supporter since I met him, and he's waking up. If he can do it, there's hope for the rest of them.

2. Most Americans hate being duped and mislead by Politicans
Any politican really, it can break down people-to-party loyalty.

Bushco should have understood this, yet they made the same mistake as so many other politicians do.

3. I commend your friend
It takes courage to admit your wrong...an attribute lacking in most republicans.

4. Is he a Clark supporter
because he used his line: "to lead the country to war on false pretenses."

6. Actually, he's not familiar with Clark really . . .
He just used the phrase :). Maybe it's because he heard me use it last time he and I talked (which was before Clark declared his candidacy actually).
