Woodruff and Blitzer are "simplistic" thinkers.
I don't know any other way to say it. Their questions are naive and simplistic, so obvious.

Have they always been this way? Or was I too uninformed to notice?

1. good point
I think they're both appallingly ignorant. They cover 'controversy' without explaining in-depth what policies are being debated. I honestly don't think they could explain to their viewers if you gave them five days to prepare what's in the Medicare bill and how it would affect senior services, or the provisions in the Energy bill.

Just keepin' us dumb, keepin' it real, that's our Wolf 'n Judy...

2. To both recapture its soul and do better in the ratings
CNN should dump both of them. They have no joy in them...they're dusty pale imitations of real human beings.

CNN could be great if it had some kind of decent leadership over there...what's their f*cking problem? I can't figure it out...

3. In the TV Biz, We (used to) Call 'em "Readers"
They're just talking heads, until their egos allow them to think they can do their own writing/interviews. And as long as they're popular, the news director will let 'em.

4. Their eyes show no spark of intelligence.
They remind me of the newscasters in the movie, They Live.

5. ...and the winner is....
Of the 'no spark of intelligence at CNN' contest ---

Kiera Phillips.

How in God's name did this dolt ever get to host an entire afternoon of CNN programming? I've never seen such stupidity on display since the Gong Show went off the air.

8. oh, yeah
And her little leather biker jacket - very hip, y'know. Sort of cancels out the fact that she's a brainless twit.

10. I could NOT agree with you more.
She is the stupidest. I can't stand her. One day Bob Franken or somebody used a Latin legal term, and Kyra giggled and said, "It's all Greek to me!"

11. yep
Did you see her on assignment on the USS Lincoln during the 'active combat' phase? She was shrieking at the Navy aircrews to "wave at the camera!", jumping up and down in excitement like a jackass in the box filming home movies. Never mind that they were in the midst of preparing to take off from an aircraft carrier. This little twit was literally SCREAMING for them to wave! I was appalled at the mindless cheerleading. This is war, not a damn college football game.

I can't imagine any real news director not pulling her dumb ass from the assignment in five seconds flat. CNN must have loved it, because she stayed.

Phillips just represents the ultimate dumbing down of the news.

when Kyra called Jermaine Jackson live and he told her was f**king tired of the media (people like her) purporting to know what Michael Jackson was like, and their intrusion into their lives. She was absolutely shocked.

Daryn Kagen (sp?) isn't awfully bright, either.

7. Speaking of intelligence, what happened to Forrest Sawyer?
Was he too intelligent for them?

Or was he on MSNBC. He was very good.

Why do you think they are on cable news during the day when most people can't watch because they are at work.

12. Judy is not the brightest candle in the church...
and terribly insecure. I think Wolf's smarter, and more sure of himself. The larger problem, it seems to me, is that both, along with others in the media, live in the isolation of the echo-chamber social circuit of D.C. and suburbs. Their child maybe goes to the same school as Karl Rove's child -- or they are told that W, who went to all the "right" schools, is charming, and not boringly "wonkish" like so many Democrats -- or they aspire to live next door to George Will. They are blind to the damage these people inflict on our country. They are ignorant of the real world, and as provincial as any group of people in America. It is amazing to me to see the look of uncomprehending, wide-eyed wonder in their eyes when they interview someone with real concern for the state of our nation.

15. b.b.b.but.......
..Judy is married to Dem pundit Al Hunt, and they have been subjected to W's wrath in public no less.

Blitzer is the former bureau chief for a publication linked to Perle.

17. Perle and Hollinger, aren't they connected someway?
There is an investigation going on against the Hollinger group, isn't there? Interesting.

Maybe Dubya put the fear of God into them that day in the restaurant.
