Did anyone just hear Daschle whining on NPR?

Their hourly update just excerpted his remarks on the (now-passed) Medicare "reform" bill.

He went on and on about how this is a bad bill, and how it doesn't protect seniors against price hikes, doesn't guarantee the long-term stability of Medicare, and how the Democrats in Congress are preparing to correct its most egregious features, etc., etc., etc.

"Huh", I thought. "Hmm - if this is such a bad bill, then WHY didn't you stand up and FIGHT IT when it was STILL BEING DEBATED!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I don't know about y'all, but Tommy-boy is a day or two late and a few billion dollars short, and it's time for him have a piping hot cup of STFU, grab some chair and let someone else LEAD the Senate Democrats.

And this time he won't have to steal the election. I can barely believe that the Dems could not pressure 11 of their own to vote against it. These idiots knew before they hit the floor that it would pass. I am furious at the continued abrogation of duty by our Democratic Reps.

It occurs to me ole Tom is trying to have it both ways: be both for and against the damn bill, depends on how it plays in whatever his state's version of Peoria is.
