Clark Supporter Rollcall
A rollcall for Clark supporters!

Questions:

(1) Who would you pick as Clark's VP?
(2) Who, if anybody, did you support before Clark?
(3) How much did PNAC pay you to vote for Clark on DU polls?
(4) Did you get your Whitman Sampler box, with the attached "Thank You" card from Richard Perle?

My answers:

(1) Howard Dean. Clark/Dean: Literally unbeatable ticket. Complete in an almost Platonic sense.

(2) Wavered between Kerry and Dean.

(3) PNAC paid me 500 NWO credits (valid after the revolution) to harass the enemies of the One True Clark. I also got a gift certificate from Fredrick's of Hollywood.

(4) Yes, I got the chocolates. Each one was shaped as an Arab nation set for invasion after the ascendancy of Emperor Clark.

1) Dean
2) Dean, before that Kerry
3) I would tell you, but then I'd have to invade and conquer your country.
4) You got a thank you card from PERLE! I only got the stupid box!

3. As for the chocolates
Don't worry about not having a Perle card. I think The Prince of Darkness ate a few of the chocolates, and tried to pass of "Dearborn, Michigan" chocolates in their place!

5. Hey WillyBrandt -
Is this post sarcasm? All I can say is - I wrote a letter to the Clark campaign a few weeks ago about what I thought they might do better. I've been one of the very early supporters - not that it matters much.
Anyway - they wrote me back, saying they read my ideas and took them into consideration; they agree with a lot of what I said. It was really great to get it - without going into detail I knew they had read my message in light of the response.

So anyway - NO I did not get chocolates or anything remotely resembling what you suggested. And yes, a Clark/Dean, Dean/Clark ticket would be almost unbeatable.

What do you mean by platonic sense?

6. By Platonic sense
I mean, it would simply be the Perfect Ticket. (Not an "asexual" ticket). It would just be complete; their traits would complement each other's.

As for sarcasm--3 and 4 are. The lunatics on DU who hate Clark, and say that he's a PNAC stooge, do not deserve argument, since they work like propagandists instead of rational interlocutors. They need ridicule.

Frenchie, you have'nt heard?

Our donations actually go into a slush fund that is rerouted to PNAC, which uses half of the money to promote death, violence, and tax cuts for the wealthy, while it deviously uses the other half to acquire the hard earned money of other naive Democrats like us.

12. hehe
(1) Who would you pick as Clark's VP?

Undecided. Someone with domestic policy experience and who can help beat Bush. I can see advantages for lots of different people, so I expect to be satisfied for whoever Clark gives the nod. I trust his judgement.

(2) Who, if anybody, did you support before Clark?

Clark since the spring of this year, before the Iraq war. When it seemed like he wasn't running all through the summer, and before the draft movement fully sprung up, I was undecided/wavering through all the other candidates, but no one struck me as well as did Clark.

(3) How much did PNAC pay you to vote for Clark on DU polls?

Nil. I'm a volunteer in the great PNAC conspiracy.

(4) Did you get your Whitman Sampler box, with the attached "Thank You" card from Richard Perle?

I got a letter from the Clark campaign, but nothing from Perle yet :( Aww, I guess I'll cry myself to sleep now.

(1) Who would you pick as Clark's VP?

Senator Graham. John Edwards. Dick Durbin. Dennis Kucinich. Barbara Boxer. (in that order)

(2) Who, if anybody, did you support before Clark?

John Kerry, then Howard Dean, back to Kerry, then Clark.

(3) How much did PNAC pay you to vote for Clark on DU polls?

NOT ENOUGH!

(4) Did you get your Whitman Sampler box, with the attached "Thank You" card from Richard Perle?

27. Gen. Clark Seems To Me To Have The Best Chance Of Victory, Sir
My earliest attachment was to Sen. Kerry, although Gov. Dean was beginning to show some promise, before Gen. Clark announced. Since his days as "Clinton's General" he has had great appeal for me.

My love of the game is such no payment is necessary, neither in monies nor chocolates....

28. Clark Rocks
I like Clark and I like Dean.

I'm a Clark supporter, but I want to see them duke it out (with the best interests of the party in mind so that they don't destroy each other in the process). Nevertheless, Clark can bring it.

Clark speaks critically and optimistically. He demonstrates sound judgement. He knows the Iraq issue and avoids the simple answer, yet his answer doesn't lose me.

He's good.

But...

Dean's one tough dude and he has started a terrifically impressive movement. In a sense, if he gets elected, he will owe his everything to regular $10 to $100 contributors (the little guys and gals) the way George W. Bush owes Enron. What does that tell ya?

It's too early to put one of them in the VP slot. Dean is clearly the front runner now and it's insulting to his supporters to suggest it at this point.

I like Edwards as a VP, and Kerry would be excellent and Gep is a likable choice too with tons of experience.

Go Clark!

(1) Who would you pick as Clark's VP?

I'm not particular but would prefer any Dem who isn't a squid or already dead.

(2) Who, if anybody, did you support before Clark?

Kerry, Dean briefly, back to Kerry... nobody seemed very appealing before Clark accepted the Draft nomination.

(3) How much did PNAC pay you to vote for Clark on DU polls?

PNAC? But Porn Nymphos Against Censorship is non-profit!

(4) Did you get your Whitman Sampler box, with the attached "Thank You" card from Richard Perle?

I got a 2 lb. box of Godiva Chocolates, an all expense paid trip to Aruba and a personal visit wherein he wrapped his arms around my ankles and tearfully declared undying devotion (but I think that might have been due to my suggesting that his face be edited out of Backstage Sluts III... I only made the suggestion because having his ugly mug showing might hurt video sales). I'm still irked that there was only 3 carmels and one truffle in the whole box... no wonder the producer's cat thought it was a litter box.

32. Present and accounted for
1) It's pretty early to pick a running mate, but Bob Graham seems to make a lot of sense. He's retiring from the Senate, so it wouldn't cause us to lose one of those valuable seats. It also would seem to create a southern juggernaut that would be much more formidable even than Clinton/Gore.

2) I supported Dean before joining the Clark camp.

3) I get to be mayor of Mosul!

35. I raise my hand
(1) Who would you pick as Clark's VP?

Kerry has been my preference, but it's getting wobblier by the minute.

(2) Who, if anybody, did you support before Clark?

I've been hoping for months that Clark would enter the race. I'm a lone wolf, however, in that almost all of my interaction with Clark supporters comes on DU.

(P.S. The first person who flamed me on this board is the poster who holds the early morning Clark-is-a-Trojan-horse bashing shift at DU. I'm actually growing fond of her/him.)

(3) How much did PNAC pay you to vote for Clark on DU polls?

PNAC -- you mean the PNAC that Clark has criticized by name?

(4) Did you get your Whitman Sampler box, with the attached "Thank You" card from Richard Perle?

No, I'm a cheap date, he bought me a box of Good and Plenty.

1) Dean or Edwards. I need to see how badly damaged Dean becomes (if at all) during the primary season, If the right succeeds as painting him as a Vermont socialist I would think hard about Edwards.

47. My answers
1) Graham or Edwards. Dean I fear will become the campaign issue and Clark won't get as much air time. Plus Graham and Edwards (particularly Graham) have electoral advantages that Dean might not be able to bring to the table.

2) I supported Gore until he announced he wasn't running, then I supported Graham with a soft spot for Dean, but I like Clark a lot. He's my guy.

3 and 4) Never went near 'em, and couldn't think of anything funny to say. :)

(2) Who, if anybody, did you support before Clark?
Wrote a letter to draft Clark, he wasn't in by the first debate so I wrote him off. Went to Dean. When Clark entered, switched from Dean to Clark.

(3) How much did PNAC pay you to vote for Clark on DU polls?
I'm getting paid in monopoly money.

(4) Did you get your Whitman Sampler box, with the attached "Thank You" card from Richard Perle?
Hey, did any of you get the secret decoder ring? I can't read this thank you note. :)

50. My answers:
1)I think that Kucinich would make an excellent VP, however my choice is somewhat tentative at the moment.

2)I was undecided right up to September when Clark entered, though I was leaning Dean.

3)PNAC didn't pay me, but I do get two checks, one from the RNC, another from Northrop Grumman. B-)

4)Absolutely, the box was actually made of gold! :wow:

51. Hi
(1) Ronald Dworkin (just to make sure we get the all-important political philosophers' vote sewn up.)
(2) Honestly, none of them: I was in despair, thinking that this was the most important election of my lifetime and the only candidate I didn't have a serious problem with was John Edwards, who was consistently polling in Sharpton territory.
(3) I got paid in old Iraqi dinars. Silly me.
(4) Does Christie Todd Whitman do samplers?

52. hi
1) Dean, Dean, gotta be Dean, unless you want someone who can maneuver his way through the senate, in which case it simply must be Kerry or Edwards, but if you want to preclude a party schism (which is likely if it comes down to a brokered convention) you gotta go with Dean.

2) Toss-up between Dean and Kerry.

3) The PNAC is all a clever ruse. Think FREEMASONS. We run the country.

4) Nope. But I did receive a gift certificate for Blockbuster Video and the noisome corpse of the democratic party's once-cherished ideals, tightly stuffed in a garbage bag, feeds 50 very hungry guests! Also I got the REAL map of the world . . . some real surprises there.

(2) Who, if anybody, did you support before Clark? Undecided between Dean and Kerry.

(3) How much did PNAC pay you to vote for Clark on DU polls? They are holding my goldfish hostage until after the New Hampshire primary.

(4) Did you get your Whitman Sampler box, with the attached "Thank You" card from Richard Perle? Yeah, and the bastard took a bit out of the ones with coconut!

Wes can win. I haven't made a VP choice. I defer to the nominee.

57. VP is a hard question
Edited on Wed Nov-26-03 12:09 PM by Phelan
1.) Edwards
2.) The draft movement.

Seriously, I think Edwards would be a good VP, but maybe two southerners would be over kill... but on the other hand we already have New England in the bag, they are not voting red...maybe having two candidates from red states is not a bad idea...
but there is a reason that the last 3 dem presidents have been from the south.

btw- Why Willie Brandt? former mayor of my home town

Edit: Actually Graham would be a great choice for VP too...he'd carry FL...even with a Bush in power there...

58. Ten-HUT!
1. I honestly think Clark makes * and Rove mighty skeered...I am a military brat and he seems like a good combination of Heroism/Service/Integrity along with a non-military progressive stance. He could never be accused of being a chickenhawk. He knows what war is like and I think that helps temper his use of force.

Dean especially would have a nice Yin-Yang appeal as a running mate. Plus Kerry plays hockey!!!! :D

2. ABB....still do. Kerry, and Dean with his organization. But truly I would vote for a tub of dirty dishwater over Shrubya...

3. PNAC sent me a do-it-yourself Third Reich "Eagle's Nest Edition" tatto kit, being that I am a male of pure Arian blood...but little did they know I am an agent for Le Resistance! :-P

4. I would hit Perle dead in the face with my goalie stick if given the chance...you hear that Asscroft? Come and get me!!!

:grr:
