How has 9-11 changed your life?
While walking the dog the other day I guess I slipped past a fence and was close to an historic lighthouse that is under repair. A federal cop came down to the beach where I was taking photographs and came very close to arresting me. He said that next time I go to jail. I cannot think of a way I could have terrorized this beach.

1. very little
but I live in a small town in rural Iowa. Still see alot more flags than would be typical, but the bigggest difference is some of the songs like - Jump by Van Halen and anything by rage against the machine still don't get any radio play. After 9 -11 some songs were deemed unfit and stations stopped playing them.

3. No not really
Other than some liberties that were stolen by a corrupt government using the tragic deaths of 911 to get their evil agenda out.

4. I've had a knot in my stomach for two years and counting,
ever since I connected my first dots. And I don't know what will make it go away.

5. not much, but
living overseas, we will not be flying home for Christmas. We did it last year and returned home from NYC on 1/2....and it was too stressful. And since my husband works for an US owned company, we are put on alert every few weeks for nonsense.

We lost 2 friends that day. Both had just had newborns. And my dad was in NYC for a meeting and my brother in law was in DC.

I will always remember that day and will never forget. :(

6. Profoundly
I had been aware, of course, of the New World Order conspiracy. History shows that since the end of WW II, and the beginning of the ascendance of the Military Industrial Complex and their incestuous ties to the CIA, the USA's egalitarian and democratic roots have been under siege.

I just didn't think they'd go this far.

Orwell was right. Totalitarianism always wins.

7. Since 9-11 *shrub has used the threat
of terrorism to his utmost... strategic, manilipuative advantage every day, second and moment. *shrub stole the 2000 election and the power of 9-11 has been his veil to hide outrageous deception of Biblical proportion!

Our country is seen as filth and corruption and aggression.....

I long for the days of dignity and respect, as a loving nation.....I am shamed by this false president. America really weeps now. I weep.

8. If it wasn't orchestrated, it gave the right wing its "justification"...
to run riot over the Middle East, and to advance its relentless agenda here at home.

Nothing silences a population quicker than a continuous war, particular one against an amorphous enemy -- "he's here! No, wait -- he's there! He's everywhere!"

As such, my life, and that of every other American, has been profoundly impacted.

9. My world perspective ...
I was at a week long trainging class being taught by a South African. There was only 3 of us in the class, so we'd chat alot. He told us how the world looked at the US and how we influenced them. Then 9/11 and we learned how the rest of the world was reacting like we did.

Since then, my world view changed. And with the subsequent pre/post Iraq invasion, I watch/read international news more and try to get a global view of things.

10. Where once few flags were flown, now they are everywhere
I can't drive a block without seeing a U.S. flag. And many of them are ragged, dirty, and disgusting, or flown at night with no light, flapped up on rooftops, flown on a post over garbage cans for heaven's sake, and other insults to the flag.

I had to ask the Post Office to please replace their tattered flag, after months of watching its shreds flap around in the wind.
