Living in America now is like being on the Titanic Anyone Agree
Bush& company along with the republican controlled congress is like that Captian on the titainc they are sterring us straight into a ice burg at full speed ahead. The only people who have common sense is the Democrats, liberals and the anti war group. I think Come 2005 or 2006 if things have not improved I may jump ship and move to Canada or maybe Bermuda.

1. Feels just like the Titanic.
I agree. Ring for more speed, if you please. Icebergs? What icebergs. At least the first-class passengers will be OK. Right?

2. The rest of the world is watching with apprehension
If the neocons maintain control, the consequences could be terrible for the entire globe.

3. I keep hoping ...
... that the rest of the world will start to take action -- most likely economic -- against the regime. After all, if we can decide which governments are best for the rest of the world, certainly they can proclaim likewise about us.

Sure, we might find that distasteful -- but that's exactly how the rest of the world views our meddling in their affairs.

6. I think the fall of the dollar
is just a start. Now that he has a Smoot Act for the steelworkers, a trade war is all but inevitable. :scared:

4. It's an astonishing spectacle,
and I can't take my eyes off it. But when the big ship goes down the rest of us out here are likely to be sucked under too, one way or the other.

Now I know why it's said to be a curse to live in interesting times.

5. Ah, but let's not forget that when the Titanic hit that iceberg....
the RICH FOLKS WENT DOWN WITH THE SHIP! At least many of them did. Which is one of the reasons I believe the Titanic occupies such a cherished place in our cultural memory today, while a maritime disaster like the Steamboat Sultana explosion, which actually killed more people -- but only po folks, and almost all of them Union soldiers of the Civil War -- is completely forgotten today.

8. Everybody Knows
Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
everybody knows the war is over
and everybody knows the good guys lost
everybody knows the fight was fixed
the poor stay poor and the rich get rich
that's how it goes
and everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
everybody knows the captain lied

From the song by Don Henley
