Liberal Group Close to Buying Radio Stations
By JIM RUTENBERG

(Dec. 1) A Democratic investment group planning to start a liberal radio network to counterbalance conservative radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh says it is close to buying radio stations in five major cities.

Edit...

The executives said the stations they were acquiring reached all radios in 5 of the 10 largest media markets: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Boston. They said they would buy stations in other markets in the near future.

Some political analysts have attributed past failures to liberal audiences' lack of interest in hearing their own views repeated. Some radio executives, including Kraig T. Kitchin, the president of Rush Limbaugh's radio distributor, Premiere Radio Networks, have said the cultural composite of the left is too diffuse to be easily targeted.

1. It will be very tough for liberals to succeed at this.
We just are not very good at sensationalistic hate mongering. That is the only thing most Americans enjoy. Try and get a freeper to an opera. They will be first in line to a wrestling match.

2. well, I guess the numbers would be like this if they didn't ask
liberal listeners and instead asked a bunch of refuqlicans... I didn't get a call, so it's not an accurate reflection.

Let's see them ask a more balanced bunch of people, instead of gleaning the rolls of freepers.

3. AOL is a first class RWing organization. Mostly Dittoheads respond
I used to get banned from their boards all the time whenever I defended the Clintons or anyone connected with them. All it takes is for someone to report you to the mods as being inciteful and you are gone...no questions asked. I was accused of using profanity and I never used profanity, unless "dittohead" is a dirty word.
