Census of the Republican Party

Well this is fun. Somehow I got on the mailing list for the RNC and just got this in today's mail.

"Dear Fellow Republican" :puke:

You are among a select group of Republicans who have been chosen to take part in the official CENSUS OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY."

Wow, how neat. First you get a bunch of questions in a survey part.

questions like:

Do you support President Bush's initiatives to promote the safety and security of all Americans?

Do you agree that teaching our children to read and increasing literacy rates should be a national priority?

Do you think U.S. troops should have to serve under UN commanders?

and my favorite

Should we build President Reagan's SDI defense shield against nuclear missile attack?

All this is of course followed by the obligatory plea for more money with the apology that the return envelope is unstamped. Gotta save every penny to get GW back in is the explanation.

And then this telling question which they say will only be tabulated if you are a RNC member in good standing, ie a contributor.

"From what source do you receive most of your news and political information"

I am tempted to send them a buck just so I can write in DU!

It closes with the standard Repub paranoia pitch.

"Liberal special interests and some unions will continue to hire hundreds of 'professional activists' and put them in place in targeted congressional districts around the country. Working together with the radical environmentalists and ultra liberal groups like People for the American Way and The Feminist Majority..." I can't go on. :puke:
