I just unloaded on a fellow Democrat
She was calling for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. She said they need money to elect more Democratic Senators so we won't have these debacles like the recent Medicare Bill. I asked her why should I give money to elect more Democrats when the ones we already have can't show any discipline. I told her that Medicare Bill should never have passed. She agreed but said the Republicans have shut the Democrats out of the deliberations. She said the Democrats often see the bills for the first time the day they come up for vote. I told her when that happens EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT should walk out of the Capitol, call a press conference, and tell America just what is going on. Show anger, show indignation, show solidarity!!!

She sighed and tols me she's hearing a LOT of anger like mine. (YES!)

I'm sorry I unloaded on her, but it doesn't take much to set me off these days. I walk around in a perpetual fury. The Democrats have GOT to realize they are not facing principled opponents any more. The GOP is in a feeding frenzy to turn back every single piece of social and environmental legislation ever passed. This is WAR.

1. I'm very polite with them and explain that I appreciate them volunteering
but that I am sick and tired of hearing they will mount an opposition when they have enough money to. I agree.

2. I usually donate money
if I have any around. I mean, I understand there needs to be some breathing room for the Democrats from every region. However, the Democratic party has to have some core value that they should stand up for. I am talking about Labor, the Environment, and Health Care, and this is something that the Democrats have compromised themselves on.

I don't expect them to be puritanical and absolutist on every single issue, but they really need to be standing up for some core issues.

3. For me, it is one thing if
a legislator takes a moderate position on issues. It is completely different for them to allow themselves to be treated disrespectfully by the Repukes. That is when I want them to scream bloody murder. I'm so tired of them giving in so easily and acting like it is because they are "moderate" in their governance, when the fact is, their spines have dissolved in the face of controversy.
