Attention Roman Catholic Pennsylvanians Against Santorum
I want to bring to your attention that EWTN the Catholic Channel here in PA is giving a lot of free air time to Rick Santorum.

I am not going to tell anyone what to do, but if you hate this man as much as I do, please join me in writing your local bishop with a letter stating how revolting it is that such a vile and hate filled man would be given so much help by the church. I realize they just love him but I am so sick of seeing this infomercial for that prick on TV...

The only good thing about this is the fact that the jerk knows he is in trouble because normally you wouldn't see him pandering for votes until about 6 mos before he runs...so this looks like damage control to me. (he isn't up for election until 2006) However I think we need to voice our concerns about religion taking such an active role in politics...especially promoting that evil jerk.

1. I am a Catholic with ties to PA and I am interested
I hope you all get his pompous ass out of the senate. Good luck PA, to the state that gave me my grandparents. BTW :hi: bleedingheart, are ya feeling better, seems that you have recovered.

3. the catholic church won't listen.
it loves this guy. he represents the church's values. he's mister catholic-face. he has a passel of kids. he's mister pro-lifer. he's mister arch-conservative, just like the pope.

i'm a massively lapsed catholic, so i'm not communicating with any priests or bishops anymore. but i can't imagine them doing anything but laughing in my face if i suggested they give less face time to our senator, the prince of darkness.

4. I would write letters to EWTN
about it. Frankly I don't think the church should be involved in politics.

5. I wish someone would tell
the people who watch that Catholic channel to watch Rick Santorum in action on the Senate floor. They will get a whole new impression of him.

My sister, who lives in Delaware, told me a couple of weeks ago that she saw my Senator, Senator Santorum, on a religious channel and he seemed so nice. His wife and children were there, too. I set her straight. I told her Santorum wanted to take away her Medicare and Social Security.

6. The Scary Looking Nun Was Massively Involved
in Campaign 2000. The church has 99 social justice issues in common with Dems, but it's that ONE issue that throws the baby out with the bathwater so to speak.

7. Anything to get stop Rick from being re-elected is ok by me
I hope he's nervous. We need a balanced, sane and at least, moderate Senator. I feel the same way about him... once I start ranting I have a hard time stopping.
