A few here were decent and did not attack. The attacks here tonight have been obvious and sickening. I wonder what it has accomplished?

Will it be that way next week when Clark appears on Hardball? I doubt it. I doubt think supporters of others are that ugly.

It did not have to been such a hateful evening.

Oh, but here I go...a whiner, a naive little Deanie bopper, a simple minded person who idolizes a candidate. I find it insulting. I have already called myself names so you guys don't have to do so.

I think it is shameful what happened here tonight. Dean did an excellent job, and others could not let it be. The Democrats do not deserve to win next year if that is how it is going to be. Primary season, hogwash. It is just plain hatred.

1. I think Dean did a good job too
I support Clark, and having said that I don't agree with the idea Dean can't be elected. I happen to believe they are both fine candidates.

2. Clark gets attacked here several times daily
If he says anything that isn't perfect expect the anti-Clark crowd, most of which comes from one camp, to pounce.

3. Clark gets attacked here if good poll data is
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 03:07 AM by BillyBunter
released, or he announces a policy position, or changes the campaign website, or wears a yellow tie, or any of a million other non-reasons. I can vividly remember when every single night there would be 3 or more Dean bots posting and re-posting the exact same anti-Clark propaganda with the exact same links -- it went on for weeks on end until they instituted new rules here just to shut it down. The martyr act from the Kool-aid swillers is ridiculous, as they are the ones who began the acrimony, both with Clark and several other candidates, and now they don't like the medicine they cooked up.

5. You do that.
It does not matter. All we all do is look silly.

6. I happen to like Dean.
If here were to get the nod I think this country could do quite well by him. Clark is still my first choice and I will adamantly support him until the end. Dean has spoken quite well of Clark and doesn't bash him. There are many who could learn from the examples that both these men set.

7. I'm just catching the end of it...
...it's interesting that the GOP stirs talking points into the pot, then the lil runners here drone on and on about it, absolving Bush while doing legwork for the GOP. He addresses the questions quite well, and sparks interest from the audience.

8. Herding Cats?
The Republicans always say this about the Dems. They claim that we can never agree on anything, that we are undisciplined and sectarian. Then they sit back and laugh at us, while we eat our own and lose another election.

Is anyone here getting sick of making the Republicans look like they have us figured out?

Would you rather like to make a Repuke look like a stupid, rabid, hypocritical sack of elephant shit? Me Too! See, we have something in common!

Here's how to build piles of elephant shit - Say good things about YOUR favored Dem candidate. When other people say bad things about your candidate, wish them luck in the primaries, and let the voters decide. Regardless of other Dems, who may not be as quick as you, learn this mantra, and repeat it daily: "Speak No Evil Of Other Dems"

Come general election time, support whomever the Dem candidate is, regardless of how you feel about that candidate's followers, because no matter who that candidate is, I can promiss you this...

It wont be GW Bush. Get it?

9. I just watched the replay, minus any DU spin
My job only allows latenight visits to DU, so the top of this thread is my first knowledge of any Dean bashing that accompanied the Hardball appearance.

I thought he was relaxed and polished. There was much greater and more positive audience reaction than greeted the previous candidates, smiles galore. Howard Dean finally seems to have gotten a clue from John Edwards' campaign truism, that only a positive message can defeat George Bush next year. And I loved that Dean was prepared for the seemingly insignificant "what's your favorite...?" questions.

However, MSNBC news briefs are focusing exclusively on the draft deferrment issue, and running a clip with Dean admitting he was happy to receive one.
