2. Officials from the ACLU and the Sentinels police Dept.
have seen the "complete" video and 90 seconds is missing. The time between Nathanial being calm and throwing the first punch is the time interval that is in question. Please watch for the time interval change and report. I don't have MSNBC and they have not shown the complete video here in Cincy to the ordinary public. The tape should start before 6:00.

Thanks

15. And just what opinion is that?
Oh wait, that doesn't matter, because the cops have guns and therefore shouldn't be "messed" with. Yeah, sure.

16. Absolutely, cooperate fully with cops any time they are confronting you
Doing otherwise can result in your death regardless of any justification.

My opinion in this matter is the guy asssaulted the cops and the cops reacted professionally and bravely. If the cops started beating up the guy in the missing 96 seconds, that opinion would immediately change.

The requirement here is that the cops were the first to assault without provocation, and not the other way around which is what I saw on the tape.

22. Hey, if you want to be killed, mess with a cop
Ever hear of suicide by cop? It happens. The easiest way in this country to get yourself killed is by assaulting a law enforcement officer. The moment you assault a law enforcement officer you have given them a license to kill you immediately without repercussion.

This is the truth. It may hurt you and it may piss you off, but regardless, it is a factual statement.

When a cop is confronting you is the absolute wrong time to prfess innocence. The cop has a job to do. Let him/her do it. You will have a court date. That is the time to take up anything beyond cooperation with the cop when he/she is performing their job.

14. they addressed that gap

the video is set up to automaticly begin soon after the car is stopped and then stop again when the car is moving. the first part of the video show the guy in the mid-distance. at that point the car was moved, closer to his position. the tape stopped when the car was moved and started up again after the car had become stationary long enough to trigger the start-up protocol.

this is what a customer told me who watched it in the waiting room. i got a phone call and still haven't seen the damn thing!

4. The Mayor here is on the radio in the hotseat right now
and I can tell you that he is nervous as hell. From his floundering when questioned about the 96 seconds of missing tape, I'm now convinced there is something foul in Denmark here.

6. No, it looks as if a section of the tape has been removed.
The only ones that have seen the whole tape are probably the Police Chief and high ranking officials. This has become a full fledged scandal. It was just claimed that the tape would have stopped if the police cars lights had gone out well this was not the case.

10. There's a missing section because (according to police)...
The tape unit stops when the officer stops the car and gets out (to save on batteries, as per the same police explanation), but can be restarted by the officer with a remote control on his belt.

However, this explanation doesn't make sense to me - isn't the video camera running on the car's 12v system, via hardwire or cigarette lighter power adapter? If so, police never shut their cars off when pulling someone over, which means battery life shouldn't be a consideration.

12. Exactly there is no reason
for the camera to have stopped because the lights on the car never went out. This is a mystery.

20. 96 seconds missing on the tape?
That could show a different perspective. This doesn't look good.

23. Yep, and if it remains missing with a lame excuse for it being missing
then I must give the suspect the benefit of the doubt and will have to conclude that he did not assault the cop but reacted in self defense to something that occured during the missing 96 seconds.

The only way the cops can sescape culpability in the death is to produce the missing 96 seconds. Anything short of that is unacceptable.

8. What's in a name?!
Cincinnati's mayor is named Charles Lukens. I'm wondering if he is related to a former "rising GOP star" with a similar last name who had a nasty little habit of inviting underage African American girls to his residence, dressing them in his judicial robes, and having sex with them. The time frame was the mid-late 80's/early 90's if my memory serves me correctly.

I'm certain the person was from Ohio (Columbus or Cincinnati), but I'm not exactly sure about the last name. I did a google but couldn't find anything.

I wonder.

11. Thanks!
But are you saying that my recollection of the name is correct? The last thing I want to do is besmirch the reputation of an innocent person.

13. I don't know all of the griddy details about Luken
but I do know that he is a recovering alcoholic and did get caught in some scandal during his Senatorship but I don't have details. I've only lived here four years.

18. I won't give those police officers the benefit of the doubt
Why should I? Thats just silly. They're human just like I am and there is no reason for me to trust that they are being honest simply because they are police officers.

24. Without the missing footage, I'm going to have to agree with you
Until the cops produce the missing footage, I have to give the suspect the benefit of the doubt.

This brings to mind a missing 8 minutes on some other tapes....
