Did Georgie Boy really go to Iraq?
OK, he and a bunch of hand-picked reporters are in a plane a zillion miles up in the air. All you see is clouds and dirt way down there. As they approach the ground, everyone is told to close the drapes. They see something like an airport in a desert, with a large paper mache sign that says "Welcome to Saddam Hussein International Airport" in Arabic.

They all hustle in to a large building where a bunch of people in uniform gather around, sing Kumbaya, eat turkey and pose for photos.

Plane takes off with windows closed, flies for several hours, and lands.

Ladies and gents, I'm just crazy enough to believe they landed in the California desert and the whole thing was a stage set. If not California, at least somewhere safer than Baghdad. How come the fake story about the BA pilot? How come no CNN reporters (who might have actually been to Iraq and notice some differences, and might not be counted upon to keep their mouths shut) How come just a few "hand picked" soldiers? How come they had to shut the windows? Couldn't they just turn off the cabin lights? There IS a switch for that, you know...

Has anybody done the math to figure out the time? If Air Force 1 flies at 580 mph, and the distance is XXXXX miles, what time would it have been there?

This is a hoax! Spread the word!!:tinfoilhat:

2. I don't think this is a valid argument...
I think it minimizes other more legitimate arguments about the trip, for example, did Bush fly with the reporters? Or do you think the reporters were in on the hoax?

Where did the servicemen and women come from? Didn't they say 600 were there? Not one of them called foul?

6. Good point. But I was thinking...
...that what we saw in the photos was 600 people in uniforms. They could have been Republican Senate Aides, for all we know. You're right - it would be hard to keep everyone's mouth shut. However, there's people still keeping secrets from WWII, so it can be done - with the right amount of bribes and threats....

4. Doubt it ...
I had heard that a DUer actually saw their son/daughter in the photo op. That would mean that they are part of the coverup.

Don't give them undue credit for pulling off something like this, as it would involve way too many people.

Besides, AWOL wasted nearly 2 million dollars for a 2.5 hour photo op. That is clearly par for the course for AWOL.

Cheers
Drifter

because a army freeper on the scene posted that bush was there, real time and got toasted for breaking security by the freeps. it seems their mods pulled it for a couple hours until the news stations broke the news.

Biff-boy is wearing. The gray windbreaker? Sorry no pic. Just wondering if that is the Old Navy version or which branch of the military he is associating himself with today.

11. What's so hard to believe?
He hops into AF1 with a few of the press, pilots flew, (He naps.)plane lands at Baghdad after dark, (Baghdad has lots of planes in and out daily. It's just one more flight.) meets with a battalion of soldiers, flies out. Gets great photos.

Occams razor. Simplest explanation is the one most likely. Your method involves a huge amount of planning and arrangements.

And there are various proofs that he was really there. People were seen on camera that are really in Iraq.

BTW - Why have the shades pulled instead of turning out the cabin lights. By leaving the lights on it allows the people inside to cabin to continue to do whatever they are doing.

15. I can't tell if you're serious or not.
But I heard on C-Span, the father of a soldier that received a call at 3:00a.m. to tell him that they just met Bush. The caller sounded sincere.

I know this administration lies but this isn't one of them. Besides, the asshole was only there 2 1/2 hours....why would they lie about that?

18. Turkey at 6 am, and that's an order!
Bush eats dinner with troops at 6 am. Hey, it sure beats going to a funeral...
Wag the Turkey
Surprise Thanksgiving Dinner at 6 AM?
By WAYNE MADSEN

Yes folks, we are now all bit players in a real-life version of the movie "Wag the Dog." President Bush and his GOP advisers are ecstatic that the president made a secret trip to Baghdad to be with U.S. troops for a "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner. His polling numbers -- which I contend are as fixed as a Florida election -- will undoubtedly receive a huge boost.
I may be a bit naive, and it has been a while since I served on active duty, but I can't recall ever sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner at 6:00 AM. Air Force One touched down at Baghdad International Airport, under cover of darkness, at 5:20 AM Baghdad time. Bush was on the ground for two and a half hours, his plane departing Baghdad at around 7:50 AM. Considering that it likely took some 30 minutes for Bush to disembark from Air Force One and travel by a heavily secured motorcade to the hangar where the troops were assembled, that means our military men and women were downing turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and non-alcoholic beer at a time when most people would be eating eggs, bacon, grits, home fries, and toast.
But there on national television, when most Americans were preparing to sit down to their own traditional Thanksgiving dinners, we saw a tape of President Bush serving mashed potatoes and corn to American troops at a "traditional" Thanksgiving meal in the early hours of the morning. What's more, when a clearly exhausted Bush strode around a curtain -- after a "What's My Line" mystery guest routine by Iraq proconsul L. Paul Bremer -- 600 American troops were said to be "shocked and awed" by Bush's surprise appearance. I would have thought most of the troops, many of whom are support personnel who work relatively normal working hours, would have been more surprised when they were ordered to get up before sunrise to eat Thanksgiving dinner between 6:00 and 7:30 A.M.

19. This has been done to death here on DU. It wasn't AM,...
it was PM. The reporter made a typo, and you are hanging a lot on a mere typo. There is plenty of evidence, including people who have recgonized family members that they know to be in Iraq. Also the times work out, and the freeper that broke security was at the right time.

Hey, it ain't hard to hop on a plane, sleep on the way over, show up for a couple of hours, then get back on the plane.

To fake it would be much more difficult by several orders of magnitude.

You can take off the tinfoil hat. He was really there.
