4. You think he'll go to the Hague for war-crimes?
I think there are far too many interests in the US that want him nowhere near a public forum.

6. Keep him hidden somewhere...
....probably undergoing some heavy brainwashing and/or kill him and put the body on ice until October 2004, then the * admin will announce they they had "just" found him

9. Who's to say he hasn't been found already?
My guess is he's already dead, with his body lying in wait until the most opportune time (ie. a month or two before the election).

15. we deserve to understand why we went to war for him

16. I doubt that we'd find out
from a sham trial. This guy was a murderous thug who tortured and killed many innocent Iraqis.

I don't think that the invasion was justified. But just because I was against the war doesn't make mass graves, torture, gassings and political executions excusable. I am against the death penalty - except in cases of crimes against humanity.

Simple research will tell you how and why he was there for so long. And you and I both know why. The American people don't, but I doubt Americans would let info like this come out.

The best we could hope for is this guy getting the same treatment as his sons.

18. Actually
I'm against the death penalty — in ALL cases. I would lock them up forever and I don't think they will ever be reformed, but I wouldn't execute them.

Don't you see that Saddam and bin Laden WANT to be killed by the U.S. They would be martyrs in their country and who knows how many would try to avenge their deaths for years to come.

How would giving them exactly what they want be punishing them? Wouldn't it be better to lock them up in a high-security cell block, denying them freedom and power? Can you imagine how hard it would be for them to watch the years pass by and the hatred that they sowed wither without anyone to fan the flames.

Think about McVeigh. He wanted to die as well, knowing it would make him a martyr to some and end his suffering as well. Who knows what we could learn from these people if they were allowed to live?

I know my opinion isn't likely to be popular, but I'm ready for the onslaught. :-)
