Poll question: Favorite Liberal Radio Show
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 04:09 PM by Gringo
What is it?

I haven't included NPR's programming since they don't cross the line to advocacy of a given viewpoint.

For those of you in the vast swaths of America with NO liberal radio and 24/7 right-wing/bible radio, here are some links:

(streaming progressive radio supported by the UAW)

wjno West Palm Beach - mostly the usual right-wing AM talk, but with the wonderful Randi Rhodes weekdays 3pm~6pm EST

mp3 archives of the wonderful Mike Malloy show and other fine shows you can download and listen to at your leisure.

1. Bernie Ward still wins out, AFAIC
Amy Goodman is not a talk show host...her duties are much more similar to Jim Lehrer's

4. KGO Radio San Francisco
Yes Bernie Ward is the "Lion of the Left" as is Ray Taliaferro who follows Bernie.
We also have to include Terrel, who fills in for Bernie and Ray.
The only problem I have with Taliaferro is that he is a good friend of Diane Frankensteine

2. Oh, you really had " brain apnea" when you made this poll out.
How could you forget the super star of liberal radio?

3. I discovered Malloy in 98 or 99 while he was on WLS
It's really important that people like Malloy are on high wattage stations so that after dark they can be heard over a wide area.

I heard him on WLS in Chicago while I was in Tulsa OK.

And people driving through the listening area heard him and called in to agree, disagree, ask questions.

5. I voted Mike Malloy ...
as his show is the one that I always listen to in its entirety.

I will listen live from 9-11pm. At work the next day I download the show to listen to the last hour. (I have every show from about March of this year).

I also like Thom Hartmann who I download at 3:15 everyday. At home I like to listen to Peter B. Collins. I will occasionally listen to Rhandi Rhodes.

I would like to give a big shout out to Ben at WhiteRoseSociety.com for providing these shows. Thanks Ben. I plan to send you a bit of a Christmas present when funds become available.

Cheers
Drifter

11. Greg had a good program this morning...
it was a good blend of national and local stuff. I enjoyed the interview with Denver's Mayor Hickenlooper.

Enid definitely rocks.

I couldn't find an 800 number to post here this morning when Greg was on. Does KNRC have an 800?

I voted for Guy James, just because I think he's such a sweetheart. Malloy is a "must listen" every night. This was a difficult choice since I like them all. Some are on pretty late. I love lib radio.

Eleny in Lakewood

9. I live in Jersey
and on WABC the "All Right all the time" station....
they had a show on evening drive, "The Buzz". It was a team with a conservative Steve Marlsberg and Liberal, Richard Bey. It was a quality program, and Bey did a good job talking common sense. Naturally it did not last long.

They were replaced with Monica Crowley (spelling?) a woman with a very loose grasp of facts and common sense,

and now by Mark Levin, who may be one of the worst hate mongers I've heard on the air.

10. I like Amy Goodman quite a bit. Randi is good as well.
The thing is that I don't really listen to talk radio that much...I know, that's just silly but:shrug:
