Poll question: Did you vote in the 2000 election?
For the record, I am a remorseful Nader voter.

1. What, nobody left a "Yes, for Shithead" option for the lurking Freeps??
There always seems to be one or two that would vote for the bastard.

2. I thought of that, but...
I really don't give a crap about what freeps/repugs think or are going to do.

I'm trying to get an idea of just how much more motivated we are this time than last. I wonder if the pro-Bush media onslaught will discourage anyone from voting.

Hey freep lurkers, BITE ME!

5. Where's Yes for Nader, but I live in Texas so what did it matter?
I would have voted for Gore if there was the SLIGHTEST chance he'd win in Texas.

6. Bush should still be on here
Didn't he get a whole lot of Democratic voters from Florida alone?

I know he'd probably get a lot of Dem voters from Texas... you know... those that see the Democrats as nothing but water carriers for minorities and gays.

7. The majority of registered Dems voted for Gore.
86%, in fact. The others went to Nader (2%) or Bush (11%), with the other 1% going to other candidates. 91% of Republicans voted for Bush, 8% for Gore, and 1% for Nader.

9. No, but I'll vote AND campaign for the democrat this time.
Didn't vote in 2000, because I was too young then.

10. OTHER: Was ineligible to vote (age) in 2000 and will remain so in 2004
However, I would have voted for Gore in 2000 and am ABB for 2004.

17. No, I did not vote for reasons not listed
I did not bother to vote (or campaign) in 2000 because Gore and Bush ran virtually the same program (in case people forgot).
If I would have got off my lazy ass, I probably would have voted Nader.

In retrospective, I admit that there would have been advantages in having Gore over Bush. Whether my Gore vote would have made a difference in my state is however higly unlikely. My conscience is troubled but my heart is pure. lol

18. I tried to vote but was thwarted....
Apparently I was in the wrong district to vote and the area I was in couldn't verify the ballot for whatever district I was supposed to be in.

So, basically, I wasn't allowed to vote. However, I would have voted for Gore.

19. Gore was a lot more liberal than Nader gave him credit for being
By comparison Dean is extremely right wing. Gore cared more about social services than budgets and he expressed a willingness to consider a moratorium on the death penalty on a Nightline episode in 2000.
