Who are Boxer's Senate challengers in L.A.?
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 06:09 PM by La_Serpiente
I know that Rosario Marin is a competitor. I am not sure if there are any others. Who do you think is going to win the Republican primary? If so, does he/she have a good chance of unseating Boxer? I hope not.

It looks like Republicans are going to put up a fight.

1. I keep hearing Dennis Miller
but dear God I hope not. I couldn't take Schwarzzie AND Dennis both playing tiddly winks in Sacramento!

I really like Boxer and I plan to do what I can to help with her re-election.

5. there has been a republican seachange in california
Edited on Tue Dec-02-03 06:27 PM by Bombtrack
tons of new registered and active republicans, combined with Marin being a successful hispanic female with a compelling life story. It's a moderate repub against the most liberal female dem in a state that just elected a moderate repub to "save" them from Gray Davis

7. What seachange? Swarzengroper?
I could be wrong, but I don't think one should take too much out of the results of the recall.

10. nope
Boxer is safe.

She's beating Marin by 23 pts in the latest poll. It'll tighten up, but I'm sure she'll squeak it out. She'll have plenty of money to fight.

http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/story/7858679p-8798877c.html

Recent statewide polls, however, show Boxer's popularity sagging and voters lukewarm about granting her a third six-year term.

Forty-five percent of all registered voters surveyed by the Field Poll last month said they were inclined to re-elect Boxer, while 40 percent were not inclined and 15 percent had no opinion. The numbers had changed little since July, when 48 percent were inclined to re-elect Boxer, 41 percent were not and 11 percent had no opinion.

Still, Boxer held a 14-point lead over Jones in the most recent poll, with a 22-point advantage over Strickland. She led by 23 points each in matchups with Marin and Casey, and she has raised more than $4 million -- far more than her potential rivals.

12. wait for the backlash....
By November, this group of "new" Republicans aren't going to be very happy with their "new" Party. By the time Arnold is done cutting every dime he can out of education and social spending while spreading the wealth amongst the already wealthy, Californians will see through the fake 'moderate' Republican label. Fool us once, as the pResident said...
