Apologies if a dupe...
I just read thru the whole poll, and it smells to me.
See the whole poll. Its in pdf, and I can't seem to cut and paste, but you can see it here:
http://www.appcpenn.org/naes/2003_03_Bush-surge-after-thanksgiving_pr.pdfSeveral things stand out.
Adam Clymer is the contact, and his cell phone number is right there.
- isn't he the one bush/cheney dubbed a "bigtime ahole" - ?
The sampling size was small - 847, and they look to glean a whole lot from this "poll" including a breakdown of race, age gender, etc.
And in the methodolgy box, you'll see that it simply states, as if in passing, that not all questions were asked of all polled. Alrighty then. Is that normal? How many were not asked what? And what is the demographic breakdown of those who were asked only certain questions?
There's another interesting box near the end that shows bush's supposed improvement, on a scale from one to ten. Improvement in these areas is miniscule, and a further disclaimer states that respondents expressing a "unsure" or the like response were ommitted from this report on results. Wouldn't that skew results? Wouldn't that at the very least give a misleading snapshot of America's political mood?
